The Russian Federation forces have unstoppable momentum in the Donetsk region, with a string of victories and the noticeable weakening of the Ukrainian defenses.
Since they took the important rail and logistics hub of Kurakhovo, the Red Army has been on a roll. Just in January, they took Nadiya, Dachenskoye, Shevchenko (with lithium mine), Kalinovo, Peschanoye, Terny and Neskuchnoye, Ukrainka, Slavyanka, Petropavlovka and Vremevka, Vozdvizhenka, Novoyegorovka, Volkovo, Zapadnoye, Solyonoe, Timofeyevka and Zelenoye – most of these towns and villages in Donetsk, some in northern Kharkov.
The list below may seem just a bunch of strange Slavic names, but the Fact is: it’s a lot of settlements.
And less than a month after Kurakhovo, Moscow conquers the even larger stronghold of Velikaya Novosyolka, a fortress city almost on the border with Dnipropetrovsk, a region that, despite getting clobbered by Geran Drones and all kinds of missiles, so far haven’t been breached by Russian troops.
A distinct feature of the battle for Velikaya Novosyolka was how fast the Ukrainian defenses folded and retreated, with very little fighting, leaving the town comparatively less destroyed by the siege.
Long gone are the days of Bakhmut, where relentless Azov Nazis put up a fight to the end in the Azovstal factory grounds. Most of today’s troops conscripted by Kiev do not compare with the defenders from the beginning of the war.
Swiss paper Neue Zürcher Zeitung (via Slavyangrad)
“The military situation in eastern Ukraine has deteriorated sharply. Defense lines have collapsed in various parts of the front.
[…] The current scenario is reminiscent of the costly retreat battles near Avdeevka a year ago and near Ugledar in October. In both cases, the high command waited too long in a hopeless situation and gave the order to withdraw too late. Accordingly, there is great indignation among some Ukrainians that Kiev seems to have learned nothing.
After Velyka Novosyolka, the Russian Armed Forces will go north, where there are few topographic obstacles, to the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region.”
Whoooooweeeee!!
LOL. Do you really believe that? There is plenty of evidence of the difficulties Russian troops are having getting food, water, and ammunition to front line positions. And why are Russians using junk cars, wheelbarrows, farm tractors, and repurposed golf carts instead of armored vehicles?
The Russian army is unable to even recapture its own land, and its progress across rural areas in Ukraine is measured in meters.
Do you ever think about how stupid the articles you post are?
The "even larger stronghold" and "fortress city" is actually a small rural town which had a prewar population of about 5,000 people. It is a collection of houses spread over the huge area of 3.64 square miles. It isn't a city, and whatever it was larger than is some village, or hamlet. It is a tiny rural town.

Ukraine ABANDONS Velyka Novosilka Triumphal Russian Flag Raising
Russian forces have captured Velyka Novosilka, the last Ukrainian bastion in South Donetsk Oblast. This battle was a nightmare for Ukraine, because the weakened 110th Mechanized Brigade was left behind as rearguard to protect the withdrawal of “more important” elements. However, instead of pulling them back in order, the men of the 110th were simply abandoned to their own fate.

With Zelensky pushing so hard in the Rear, we may yet get to The Last Ukrainian Alive.
Keane was honored for actions in Iraq 2006, long before ISW Ukraine Propaganda exploits.
Quoting President Trump: “In 2006, Jack helped engineer the surge that stabilized the deteriorating situation in Iraq and allowed Iraqis to finally take charge of their own future,” Trump said. “In the years since, Jack has continued to offer his sage counsel to military and policy leaders and to visit our troops on the frontiers. And Jack, I have to say, has given me a lot of good advice too.”
President Trump presented Keane's award on March 10, 2020, before the Ukraine conflict began, and associated ISW degeneration.
She probably sent him an autographed picture for him to keep "close"!
Thanks Navy Patriot.

Zelensky orders government to report on suspended USAID programs
28.01.2025 23:00
President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed government officials to provide a report on U.S. assistance programs that are currently suspended for 90 days.
As reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this during his evening address.
“Today, I instructed Government officials to provide a report on those American support programs that are currently suspended,” the President stated.
Zelensky emphasized that the suspended programs primarily include humanitarian initiatives. Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Reconstruction and Minister of Community and Territorial Development, Oleksii Kuleba, along with other officials, are assessing which programs are currently underfunded.
“There are many projects. We will determine which ones are critical and need immediate solutions,” Zelensky said.
He added that some of the funding gaps could be addressed using state finances, while others would be discussed with European and American partners.
Key priorities include programs for Ukrainian children, veterans, and the protection of infrastructure. “we will certainly support priority things,” the President affirmed.
As reported by Ukrinform, on January 20, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending all foreign aid programs for 90 to review whether they align with his political objectives.
The following week, U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio directed a halt to all foreign aid operations, except for emergency food aid for areas such as Gaza and Sudan.
Subsequently, nearly 60 senior USAID officials were placed on administrative leave, and Ukrainian organizations began receiving notifications of temporary funding suspensions.
