As a WWII baby whose elders had heard about the horrors depicted in those photos, I’d like to kill some Germans. Not just the Nazis, but their enablers as well.

In 1940, Pilecki volunteered[2]: 66 [3][4][5] to allow himself to be captured by the occupying Germans in order to infiltrate the Auschwitz concentration camp. At Auschwitz, he organized a resistance movement that eventually included hundreds of inmates, and he secretly drew up reports detailing German atrocities at the camp, which were smuggled out to Home Army headquarters and shared with the Western Allies. After eventually escaping from Auschwitz in April 1943, Pilecki fought in the Warsaw Uprising of August–October 1944. Following its suppression, he was interned in a German prisoner-of-war camp.
And his reward was to be murdered by the Communists.

This should be a mandatory part of every high school education in the USA. Not because they are Jews, but because they are humans.
I remember when reading the biography of Sabina Spielrein that she could not believe the Germans would be worse than the Russians.
She was a patient of both Freud and Jung, had a long affair with Jung, became a physician and considered the Mother of Psychotherapy in Russia. She was a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, teacher and pediatrician in Switzerland and Russia. In a thirty-year professional career, she published over 35 papers in three languages (German, French and Russian), covering psychoanalysis, developmental psychology, psycholinguistics and educational psychology.
Once of her many famous students was the Swiss psychiatrist Jean Piaget.
She started a school where Stalin’s children attended.
Her brother’s were murdered by Stalin..
She was in Rostov-on-Don when the Germans invaded and took over. The German SS Death Squad then force 27,000 Jews to march out of the city where they were executed. This included Spielrein and her two daughters.
I am thankful that I had the opportunity to present a lecture at a conference on Sabina Spielrein. This woman was beyond remarkable. She wrote several psychological papers with new theories and both Jung and Freud suppressed their publication, taking her original theories and claiming them as their own.
I also had the opportunity to travel in the former East Germany, Poland, and several other former Soviet Bloc countries, speaking with survivors of both WWI and WWII. These folks were old when I spoke with them and have all passed on now. The stories I heard from children who ran from their homes and never returned or found their family. With German soldiers who were captured by the Russians after WWII was over and shipped to Siberia as POW’s. Very few were allowed to return to Germany.
Sometimes it makes you wonder if there really is a God that would allow the atrocities of war to happen.
