The Trump Effect

It's real.

A ceasefire/hostage deal reportedly has been reached between Israel and Hamas.

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a cease-fire deal that also ensures the release of hostages, Fox News has confirmed.

"A Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal was reached following the Qatari Prime Minister's meeting with Hamas negotiators, and separately Israeli negotiators in his office," a source briefed on the matter told Fox News. Separately, a senior Hamas official confirmed to Fox News that a deal was reached. In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said that final details were still unresolved, but that it hoped "details will be finalized tonight."

This is no coincidence.

We are five days away from Donald Trump's inauguration.

A little over a week ago Donald Trump made a stern declaration:

“Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East – But it’s all talk and no action! Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity.”

He chose a SecDef nominee suited particularly for this task.

And he sent the right guy to get it done.

Trump, who had warned that there would be “hell to pay” if an agreement was not reached before his inauguration next week, also tapped his special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to monitor the situation in Gaza and ensure it no longer threatens Israel again.

Officials say Witkoff, who was in Jerusalem and Doha, Qatar, was key in pressuring Netanyahu to accept the cease-fire agreement.

The message was received.

You might remember how Trump convinced a Taliban leader not to attack any US forces in Afghanistan.

Former President Donald Trump claims he threatened to “obliterate” the co-founder of the Taliban if he stepped out of line — and even sent him a photo of his house to prove he could.

Trump, 76, told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he threatened Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar during 18 months of talks from the White House before his successor, President Biden, ordered the “horrible withdrawal” from Afghanistan.

“I sent him a picture of his house,” Trump insisted of the leader dubbed “Baradar the Butcher,” who is now deputy prime minister after the Taliban seized power.

“He said, ‘But why do you send me a picture of my house?’ I said, ‘You’ll have to figure that one out,'” Trump claimed in the second part of his sit-down interview, aired late Thursday.

You might also remember how Trump solved the Qassem Soleimani problem.

Trump is anti-war but is not afraid to use military might to achieve those ends.

The astute historians among us will recall another very similar situation back in 1980.  As Ronald Reagan was being inaugurated, Iran released the US hostages it held for 444 days following the overthrow of the Shah. Iran did not want to deal with Reagan. Hamas does not want to deal with Trump.

The Trump effect is not limited for foreign policy. In California regulators backed off a plan to ban diesel trucks

Not a fan of this guy Witkoff, who sold his hotel in NYC to Qatar for $650 million in 2023. Now he is “negotiating” with them and reportedly “screamed” and “cursed out” Netanyahu in their “tense” meetings? Israel seems to have been threatened into this deal. What happens when Hamas rebuilds its strength in North Gaza? Or when Hamas and PIJ groups from the West Bank carry out terror attacks in Jerusalem?

To me, this sounds like Trump and his Special Envoy completely betrayed Netanyahu's trust.

Where does Trump stand on the anti-Israel Turkey dictator - Recep Erdogan - and the Erdogan power play in Syria?

Supposedly Trump is fond of Erdogan. We can’t afford 4 more years of trusting those who are trying to replace the West with a New Caliphate.

This deal was only possible because the bad guys fear Trump and the good guys trust him. Israel knows that Trump will back them against Hamas and Iran and Iran remembers what Trump did to them his last time in office. If they ramp up the war against Israel again, they will all get f’ed and they know it.

Look for Iran to start sounding much less bellicose.

“It turns out that the Qatari enemy’s declaration of a “ceasefire” was merely a facade, with underlying disputes remaining unresolved. For instance, Hamas is unwilling to accept Israel’s veto on the release of numerous murderers, contrary to the agreement. Moreover, there are disagreements about the terms left from the first phase.”

“When you make a “deal” with a monstrous terrorist organization, what outcome could you reasonably expect? Furthermore, the mediators themselves seem to be corrupt.”

I’ve seen what was posted by Palestinian news sources as the rules of the cease fire. There is NO WAY? that Bibi would ever sign such an agreement. Hamas always lies. Even to the point of lying about a cease fire knowing that they would never comply with the agreement and would bait those in Gaza into the streets as Israel eliminates Hamas. Killing their own citizens. Pure Evil.
