The Biden administration yesterday notified Congress of their intent to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. It's the first step in Trump's future plan to annex Cuba (that's a joke, please laugh).
Here's an interesting fact: President Reagan, out of all the presidents, added Cuba to the list in 1982 for the island nation's alleged ties to "international terrorism and support for terrorist groups in Latin America. In 2015, Obama took Cuba off the list.
In 2021, the Trump administration put them back on the list, saying the country was "providing support for acts of international terrorism in granting safe harbor to terrorists."
There are four main categories of sanctions for countries on the list, including "restrictions on U.S. foreign assistance, a ban on defense exports and sales, certain controls over exports of dual-use items, and miscellaneous financial and other restrictions." There are also penalties handed out to individuals or countries who engage in certain trade with these designated countries.
Here's Biden's reasoning for this newest pivot (and by Biden's reasoning, I mean his handlers' reasoning):
‘Concurrently to these unilateral steps that are being taken by the United States, it is our understanding that the Catholic Church is significantly advancing an agreement with Cuba to undertake a set of actions that will allow for the humanitarian release of a significant number of political prisoners in Cuba and those who have been detained unjustly,' a senior administration official said.
Another senior administration official said they expect the moves ‘will be broadly well-received in the region and beyond.'
553 prisoners, "including those who took place in the island-wide July 11, 2021 protests," are to be released in a "gradual" fashion.
This will likely be overturned by Trump within the next four years.
Then from its place in the Gulf of America, Cuba can become the 54th state (after Greenland, Canada, and Panama) 😉
Good for him. Him and the Cuban Leadership are kissing cousins anyway.
What a d!ck
she loves herself some marxist revolutionary communists.
That’s not the only bomb he’s dropping on the way out -
I hope the Trump team has a plan to quickly undo all this crap, contrary to what the article implies.
Every day,”CommieCrat Joe” has a new SoreAss STUNT to announce.
I’ve never really hated a president, even Obama, but Biden I absolutely despise........................
damn, it’s like Biden wakes up everyday wondering... how can I fu$k over America today before my presidency is over in a few days!
IMO the gap between the election and taking office is way to long! a month should be more than enough time for a transition
I consider them one & same...O & the pervert...
I’ve said that many times.
Other nations do it overnight.................
I Despise Obama too as he started race wars that cost this nation hundreds of billions of dol.ars from the riots they sparked- and caused unhinged blm and antifa to murder cops and Trump supporters. He also made a mockery of marriage, and I beleive took Cuba off the terror list too before he left office. He did a lot to undermine this nation as well- he was just sneaker about it than Biden is
Which terrorist organizations are they currently sponsoring?
1. Moslems
2. Communists
3. Democrats…..sorry for being repetitive with 2 and 3.
And Trump will add it back.
All the left is doing is trying to overwhelm him with so much to do that he can’t do it all and he gets bogged down.
I think, however, they underestimate him and are going to be surprised.
The scary part is biden is not doing any of this. The Deep State is and they will still be around in the shadows.
Their attitude was and remains one of controlling the people when in charge, punish them when not.
Quite frankly, I’m shocked that Biden hasn’t started the nuclear war.
Maybe this is part of the final pay off to the Biden crime family.
Devils advocate: is there evidence that Cuba has in fact state-sponsored terrorism recently? If there is proof, it’s easy enough to return them to the list. if they have been behaving, the action is not inappropriate.
