California's Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday invited President-elect Donald Trump to view the fire damage in Los Angeles County, despite an ongoing feud between the two over the fires.

Trump has blamed Newsom for the scale of the series of fires that unexpectedly hit the Los Angeles area this week, and claimed the governor was not doing a good job in response to the fires. However, Trump has appeared optimistic that the pair will work well together when he becomes president later this month.

Trump will be visiting sometime but I think he would wait until the fires are out and after he's inaugurated.

I’m really liking Newt Gingrich’s idea of impounding federal funds ear marked for LA and California that they are going to waste and giving it directly to the people who have lost their homes.

Stupid move on Newsom’s part. Trump will grandstand on how lousy a job Newsom did. How responsible he is.

And Trump will be right.

Gavin Newsom is sociopathic in this clip. He belongs nowhere near politics and nowhere near even the Democratic Party. I can’t even imagine Obama or Clinton or even AOC or Bernie Sanders bearing this level of sociopathy towards their constituents. This gross level of ineptitude. They could at least fake it better for the cameras.

And oh the irony of Biden having been in LA on Tues night for some Native American tribal land dedication that got cancelled. A functioning president would have stayed and called the national guard.

Also Hawaii’s leaders need to be held to account for Maui fires. Those were never investigates under Biden. As well as Puerto Rico power outages.

Newsom can resign in exchange for PDJT47 appointing him ambassador to a nice sunny place; maybe the Republic of Hairgelia.

AGAIN - the deal has to be that California ENDS their Train to Nowhwere (and destroys the work they’ve already done, giving land back to those who should own it), or NO DEAL. The train is costing the US GOVERNMENT a ton of money, not just CA.

After that, then maybe, start talking.

"...fires that unexpectedly hit the Los Angeles area this week"

Yeah, the 100 mph hot Santa Ana winds have NEVER blown before. They've never ignited wildfires before. Totally unexpected.

The only climate that is to blame in Commiefornia is the political climate.

Liberal demonicRAT super-majorities in both the Assembly and the Senate along with demonicRATS holding virtually every statewide office as well as running the large cities and counties needs to change.

But, I won't hold my breath.

Train to nowhere. Just keep the right-of-ways open. It just may be a good idea some day soon.

“ Trump will grandstand on how lousy a job Newsom did“

I doubt that. Trump has more class than he gets credit for. He wouldn’t go there just to put on a show.

I wonder if The Donald and Newsom will visit Robert De Niro’s home in the Malibu Cove Gated Community.

“Train to nowhere. Just keep the right-of-ways open. It just may be a good idea some day soon.”

They have I-5, the overpasses can EASILY handle 4 lanes each way (back when men ran the state, they knew to overbuild). So, at most, widen the highway and give the inside lane to buses - and then everyone wins.

It’s not hard to get ‘cars off the road’ there, but give them an alternative that won’t bankrupt the people or cause them to have to deal with ‘the homeless’ - they’ve had enough of that crap.

Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
Now, give me federal funds.

Trump warned that this would happen. 10W-40 thinks he can charm Trump?

By that logic I should burn our house down and let you pay for building a new one. Especially offensive if a certain fire was started by downed power lines and is surrounded by empty reservoirs by negligence. Most of the insurance carriers in that area have pulled out (because of wildfires) the last few years because of piss poor management and now it’s our job to fix and pay for it?

Sure thing. California lawmakers are working while LA burns to pass anti-Trump laws before Trump is inaugurated.

The damage isn’t even over yet, Governor Asshole. The winds are due to pick up again in a couple of days. Or have you ordered your arsonists to stand down?
