Canadian Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary has said he is going to Mar-a-Lago to lobby President-elect Donald Trump to merge the United States and Canada.
During an appearance on Fox Business on Thursday, O’Leary said Trump should eliminate the border between the two countries.
The reality star and businessman said Trump should create a new currency and “almost EU like passport for the U.S. and Canada.”
“There’s 41 million Canadians, basically the population of California sitting on the world’s largest amounts of all resources, including the most important energy and water,” O’Leary said. “Canadians, over the holidays, the last two days have been talking about this. They want to hear more. And so, you know, there’s obviously a lot of issues and more details. But what this could be is the beginning of an economic union.”
O’Leary continued, “Think about the power of combining the two economies, erasing the border between Canada and the United States and putting all that resource up to the northern borders where China and Russia are knocking on the door. So secure that give a common currency, figure out taxes across the board, get everything trading both ways, create a new, almost EU like passport.”
NEW: Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary, a Canadian, says he likes the idea of combining the US and Canadian economies, says he is heading to Mar-a-Lago to start the talks.
O’Leary said half of Canadians are interested in Trump’s proposal.

“Mr. Wonderful” said that Canadians do not want Prime Minister Justin Trudeau making the deal, so he is going to do it himself.
“I like this idea and at least half of Canadians are interested. The problem is the government’s collapsing Canada right now. Nobody wants Trudeau to negotiate this deal. I don’t want him doing it for me. So I’m going to go to Mar a Lago. I’ll start the narrative. The 41 million Canadians, I think most of them would trust me on this deal.”
Earlier this month, Trump said that Canada should become the 51st state on Truth Social.
Trump wrote, “No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year? Makes no sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!”
We don ‘t want Canada. At least not Ontario or Quebec.
We want Greenland.
Since 1963 with Lester Pearson as PM and his introduction of socialism.
I’m fine for bringing Kan in the US as long as they live under the US Constitution form of government. I have no desire to live under the odious parliamentary “democracy” of Canada without the protection of the Bill of Rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
I'll give independence to Quebec.
Trump’s not interested in Canada becoming a state. That was a joke. And Kevin O’Leary knows it and is just enjoying the moment.
Exactly.
Even though Greenland is mostly ice.
I agree.
Talk to the Danish
Has everybody lost their freakin’ minds? How about America simply starts paying its bills and gets out of her crushing debt.
“I’ll give independence to Quebec.”
Excellent idea.
I rather like O’Leary, but this is nuts. Canada is a proud, independent nation. Re-negotiation transactions is one thing, but merging is quite another.
Since 1935 when “Progressive Conservative” Prime Minister R. B. Bennett brought in the “Canadian New Deal”.
Didn’t we try that back in the 1700’s? And failed?
Some in Puerto Rico may start feeling left out of the discussion.
Nobody here is currently pushing to make them a full fledged state. The majority of Puerto Ricans keep saying they want to remain a territory, and not become a state.
“Canada is a proud, independent nation. “
Proud of what ?
In 2016 Trudeau said we have no core identity and are a post-national State.
And he was re-elected twice after that.
Mmerge schmerge. Just annex it and don’t give Canucks the right to vote.
we wouldn’t need a pipeline, just free shipping from Alberta
