In Syria, be careful what you wish for: Sharia law and new wave of refugees is more likely than ‘democracy’ following fall of Assad and U.S. meddling

Jeez folks. As if Bidet could actually accomplish something.

Russia’s and hezbollah’s support of Assad collapsed, and the hit jihadis walked in the front door.

If Syria goes muslim, Damascus will become a dirty third world city with everyone living in abject poverty.

Just like in New York and for the same reason, the dictator is always replaced with a worse one.

Prophetic scripture has no good news for Damascus. A day is coming when it will be a permanently barren pile of rubble.

Western media is saying that Assad was a dictator who ordered the torture of his enemies, and amassed a vast personal fortune.

Well, sure. But don't most Western, Eastern, and Third World leaders amass vast personal fortunes? Putin, Zelensky, the Chinese oligarchs, Pelosi, etc.

And is there a powerful nation that doesn't torture its enemies? Consider Guantanamo Bay and the J6 people.

Yes, Assad is bad. But if we apply the same standard to all world leaders, most would be deposed.

The outcome was gonna suck no matter who was on the winning side.

On one side you had the Russians and Iranians who used Syria as a springboard to stir up sh*t against Israel and Lebanon and eventually us.

On the other side you had dangerous Islamists of various stripes who hate Israel, the US and the Gulf States.

Assad may have met the definition of the devil we know vs the one don’t (the Islamists), because he was “willing” to protect Syrian Christians - but with Iran’s evergrowing influence in that country, how long was that gonna last before Hezbollah starting killing Syrian Christians?

Either way, this was and remains a situation with a huge suck factor.

I doubt that anyone seriously believes that somehow, magically, Syria will become a Democracy.

I wonder if they’ll rename the Damascus gate in Jerusalem to the rubble gate.

When you dine with the devil, be sure to bring a long spoon.

There are no heroes, other than Israel, anywhere in the middle east. Just 7th century savages.

A pox on all of them.

Arabs don’t do democracy. They are unable. Some people are just like that. Gotta have a strongman on top. Eastern Europe is exhibit A in this regards.

I’ve heard some awfully dumb statements coming from conservative circles in recent days about the “stunning” nine-day collapse of Syria.

I think it's the same reason Afghanistan collapsed so quickly. Most of those people WANT an Islamic state. Now they have one or shortly will have.

Reportedly Erdogan is convinced he can soon expel the 3.5 million Syrians living in Turkey, costing him tens of billions and dragging down the economy.

And neocons say: The objectives are never the objectives. The objectives are always the war.

From their perspective, the worse the result out meddling yields the better because it helps achieve yet another war down the road.

*****************************************************************

Will the European countries that foolishly accepted the Syrian “refugees” to their countries also WISELY also conclude that they can do the same? I suspect not since those Syrians are all part of the EU overlords’ plans to oppress the native European peoples.
