President-elect Donald Trump certainly seems to have a flair for the dramatic when it comes to the timing and quality of his announced cabinet and administration picks.
One of his latest is no exception to that. On Saturday evening, Trump announced that — as many of his supporters had hoped — he would be nominating Kash Patel to serve as FBI Director in his new administration.
This, of course, set heads on the Left (and the Establishment Right) spinning.
Following the announcement, the FBI issued a rather bland statement via a spokesperson.
FBI statement tonight:
“Every day, the men and women of the FBI continue to work to protect Americans from a growing array of threats. Director Wray's focus remains on the men and women of the FBI, the people we do the work with, and the people we do the work for”— Scott MacFarlane (@MacFarlaneNews) December 1, 2024
"Every day, the men and women of the FBI continue to work to protect Americans from a growing array of threats. Director Wray's focus remains on the men and women of the FBI, the people we do the work with, and the people we do the work for."
Sure, Jan. I can't imagine Chris Wray's given a moment's thought to where he'll land after January 20, 2025. Not an ounce of energy spent attempting to ensure nothing will come back to bite him.
Meanwhile, several notable former FBI agents have weighed in on the choice — with delight. The Trump-Vance Transition Team put out an email collecting the statements of several:
Former FBI Agents believe that Kash Patel is the right pick to reform the FBI.
Ben Sothers, a former FBI agent, told The Washington Times: “I like him. … I think he can certainly bring the cultural changes needed in the bureau. It seems like he prioritizes the Constitution and the American people over political initiatives, which is how an FBI director should be... He’s a really transparent guy who was a public defender, so he understands due process to an extent that most people won’t."
Dal Rae Beach, a former supervisory special agent who worked at the bureau for 13 years, told The Washington Times that Kash is the "kind of director we really need" and praised his "amazing background in national security."
Daniel Boyer, a former FBI special agent of 24 years, told The Washington Times, "He seems like a no-nonsense guy. I’m just so tired of the same old, same old."
Kash Patel has received widespread praise since President Trump's announcement Saturday night.
Former National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien wrote: "President [Donald Trump] has made America safer & more just by his nomination of Kash Patel as Director of the FBI. He will be a worthy successor to my friend, Christopher Wray. Kash Patel served [as] a Snr. Director for counterterrorism when I was National Security Advisor. I was able to count on him to get any job done no matter how complex or difficult the task. He handled some of the nation’s most sensitive issues with care and discretion. From assisting President Trump in the take down of ISIS and bringing justice to Kayla Mueller’s murderer - al Baghdadi - to risking his life in Syria for hostage Austin Tice, Kash Patel fought for America. I have no doubt that Kash Patel will inspire our line FBI agents who want to fight crime, destroy the cartels, capture spies, and jail mobsters, thugs, fraudsters and traffickers."
And in a Fox News column, David Marcus wrote: "What Patel can bring to the FBI is fairness, honesty, the actual blindfold that lady justice is supposed to wear. No good person should fear that, it should not threaten anything true or just."
Other former agents were sufficiently enthused that one could practically hear their war whoops via Twitter/X.
I've been clear about #KashOnly for @fbi director. I know I'm biased after what they did to my family vs. what he did through his foundation for us in the aftermath. Nonetheless, it's an astounding and grateful day.

Oh, I expect the confirmation process will be a doozy, as they say, but I'm not gonna lie: This one change might be the most refreshing of all — and I am here for it.
I hope Patel gets confirmed. It should be automatic but the senate is dominated by RINOs (Collins, Murkowski, etc.).
Patel should be telling them to not delete anything and deleting information can result in prosecution. Hopefully enough loyal agents are saving their hard drives.
It will take 4 no votes and l can think of 2 right off the bat. Those 4 stolen Senate seats look pretty big right now.
I literally have no idea who the man is, but he can’t be any worse than what we have now so, I’m good
I think the FBI non statement was offensive.
That whole place must be an incredible nest of vipers.
Dreadful news -— the high school house parties Patel used to be involved in have been unearthed! Oh! The humanity! (eye roll)
If you were doing your job there wouldn’t be a “growing array of threats”. Stunning indictment in the fruits of your labor.
You don’t know who he is, quit watching the main stream media. Watch War Room with Steave Bannon, on Rumble, And We Know on Rumble, The Benny Show on Rumble & YouTube. Tucker Carlson, Megan Kelly on YouTube. Fox News doesn’t give you the full truth. The get alot of money Big Pharma.
“That whole place must be an incredible nest of vipers.”
Probably has been since Øbowel and his “wingman” crap weasel holder ran things
I’m praying MUCH that this confirmation will be nothing short of a DIVINE appointment and a CONFIRMATION from God that America has been given a second chance to right many wrongs!!!!
RE: I literally have no idea who the man is,
Here’s a link to read about his background and to understand why even FReepers are enthusiastic about this pick for FBI director:

Oh, there will be a mass wave of computer crashes.
I’m ecstatic!

This is the second post in the last 24-48 hours that I have seen from you indicating you don’t know who this man is. You should educate yourself on him.
IMO, he is the best we have to partner with Trump on any aspect of his battle with The Deep State and embedded government. Kash Patel worked with Devin Nunes on the House Intelligence Committee to uncover Spygate. Nothing came of their work because the Democrats controlled the committees and narratives.
He is the most qualified man to take on the Deep State. He is an ardent foe of the Deep State and has embroiled himself fully into its tentacles, is knowledgeable, knows where the bodies are, is both aggressive and fearless, and is unimpeachable. They won’t be able to dig anything up on him..
Listen to his podcasts and read his books. There is a huge amount of information out there about him. Educate yourself so you can speak authoritatively about him.
Please don’t take this the wrong way, but to say he “can’t be any worse than what we have now” is an insult to the man and doesn’t paint you in the best light. I understand you may not realize that, but you need to do better for yourself (information-wise) as we all do on an ongoing basis.
We are at war to save our country.

Oh my! Go look for some of the clips of him on media. You are going to be impressed! He was the one who helped put together the Nunes memo in 2018. He did most of the work uncovering Obama administration’s spying on Trump’s campaign.

He was Devin Nunez’ chief of staff and if you had to name just one person responsible for uncovering and publicizing the Russiagate corruption it would be Kash.
