I can't STOP thinking about it! No, not the upcoming election which I know I should be focused on. However, this morning my mind was entirely focused on something else entirely. My Char Siu Sweet Chinese ribs which have been marinating overnight in the refrigerator. All morning while trying to think of a video to produce only one image kept coming into my mind. The ribs. In fact I made several trips to the refrigerator simply to INHALE the intoxicating odor of the ribs marinating in a blend of exotic spices and sauces. My normal routine is to simply review dozens of stories and videos in the morning and then allow my subconscious mind create a video. That is the same method by which I wrote my humor columns and comix stories in the past. It's a great method because you let your subconscious mind do the heavy creative lifting while the conscious mind simply relaxes over cups of coffee. However, when the subconscious mind won't leave the subject of Chinese ribs, what could I do but share with you my obsession over these ribs.
The recipe is at the link below. If you have an air fryer then try it for yourself and then maybe you will understand where I am coming from when you wake up early in the morning to sniff in the alluring fumes from the marinating ribs you created the night before.
Air Fryer Char Siu Chinese Sweet Ribs
It’s normally made with pork belly or similar meat, not ribs
cats in the kettle at the peking moon...
So why do they call it Chinese RIBS? I've had good Chinese ribs at restaurants (unlike last Sunday) and they had bones in them. Also the "ribs" I had last Sunday were so dry I don't think they were from the pork belly.
Oh man! I just ate my fill of Char Siu ribs. Soooo good. That should satisfy me ...until March.
