In an interview with Patrick Bet-David, former President Donald Trump claimed that Apple’s CEO Tim Cook personally reached out to seek his assistance amid Apple’s financial battles in the European Union, specifically following the imposition of a massive €13 billion (approx. $14.4 billion) tax penalty by the EU, which was later increased with an additional €2 billion fine.
This regulatory pressure from Europe has hit Apple and other American tech firms hard, prompting Cook to seek the former president’s advice, not Kamala.
Apple’s woes stem from a longstanding legal battle with the European Commission, which accused the tech giant of benefiting from unlawful tax breaks provided by Ireland.
The European Court of Justice recently upheld the EU’s decision to recover 13 billion euros in unpaid taxes from Apple, reversing an earlier ruling that had sided with the company.
“Tim Cook called me up directly, and he did it himself,” Trump said.
“He didn’t have to pay 10 cents, and I gave him 100% of what he wanted because he was right. I mean, you can’t compete with Samsung if one’s paying a tax. But I said, “You’ve got to gradually move your company here.”
According to Trump, the recent EU fines are a blatant attempt to exploit American companies to finance European projects.

Well well well...
1) Trump will likely win
2) Harris will side with the fascist EU
Cook is a lot of things, but he ain’t stupid.
But I said, “You’ve got to gradually move your company here.”
So what is our plan (Trump’s) to deal with the EU.
Here’s an idea - we impose an $18 Billion charge on the EU for our NATO involvement. No bucks, no GIs when you’re in trouble.
There’s other things, also.
Let’s hear every FReeper’s proposals!
If you were the head of a multi-billion dollar company, who would you seek advice from: 1) Trump, 2) Harris, or 3) A fence post? (Hint: two of the choices will give you the same advice.)
Impose certain tariffs, remove certain "environmental" regulations, and it will happen. There are valid reasons for companies to manufacture overseas; many of them are the result of government overreach.
now thats a great tee shirt right there
Send ‘em a bill for the past and make no commitments for the future.
Unless Tim Cook lives in Ireland, I don’t think it will be very difficult to move the company back to the US.
The fence post won’t give me bad advice. My barn cats won’t give me bad advice. My neighbor’s llamas won’t give me bad advice.
That puts them all ahead of Komrade Kamala ...
Looks like a lot of otherwise liberal Dem voters working at AAPL will be voting DJT next month.
According to Trump, the recent EU fines are a blatant attempt to exploit American companies to finance European projects.

Like their 2% contribution to NATO.
Apple’s M3 chips are not being made in the US by TSMC, as well as some PCs and other items. iPhone assembly still done overseas.
I hope the Apple fine solution doesn’t involve some wheeling and dealing where the fine gets hidden in other ways that the American taxpayer ends up paying.
The only negotiation should be purely about the fine itself, Apple, and the Euro body that imposed it.
Well, Tim, it comes down to this, do you support the constitution and people of the united states or are you a globalist? The world is coming apart at the seams and you have to pick which tectonic plate you want to float around on. If you are on my side, we can fix Europe. We tell them we have principles. We believe in certain inalienable rights. Support them and we are with you. Go against them and you can go make your separate peace with Russia and Iran. You are on your own.
And now we know why Kamala has a billion dollars in ‘donations’ to her Obama 4.0 campaign.
Impose an $18B and one cent charge on German cars, say that it will go to cleaning up after Dieselgate.
Then impose another $18B and one cent charge on Airbus aircraft not made in the US.
It is not just manufacturing but also the huge data center footprint. I remember with Facebook started running their USA traffic via Ireland so that the US Government could ‘legally’ monitor US Citizens. Lots of data centers and fiber in Ireland.
