According to Miller’s account, he never removed his firearms from his vehicle and his VIP pass was in fact legitimate.
I don’t know one way or the other. He’s innocent until proven guilty. If what he says is true then charges will likely be dropped.
He may be innocent but one thing is for sure , he is not too bright .
Miller believes his “critical mistake” was forgetting that he was in California, a state notorious for its strict gun laws, compared to more Second Amendment-friendly states like Nevada.
Miller also addressed the claim that he had counterfeit passes: “That’s complete nonsense,” he said.

LOL...The Sheriff was probably looking for a raise...Or maybe he running for “Higher office”.
Just ask the FReepers who as always, were willing to jump to conclusions in the absence of evidence.
Fake assassin.
THERE WERE TWO ASSASSIN STORIES!!! ONE WAS A FOREIGNE. WHO THE POLICE JUST LET GO HIS WAY..... and then VEM.....who are we to believe?? One....TWO...NONE??
Some real asses among our people made shows about it this weekend. Got to see some of them backtrack today.
Looks to me like a local sheriff grabbing his 15 minutes of fame.
How did the cops know about the guns if they never left the vehicle? Were they in the trunk or were they visible in the passenger compartment? If they were plainly visible then he was an idiot inviting trouble.
Let’s keep in mind that the California Central Valley is predominately conservative, not to mention where most of the farmland is. Gun ownership is more common there than your average blue counties.
Better safe than sorry. God keep everyone safe and may the truth come to light.
This explains it all:
Vem Miller’s Statement about the “3rd Assassination Attempt” on Donald Trump (America Happens, Oct 14, 2024)
On October 12, 2024, Vem Miller was falsely accused by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, of attempting to assassinate President
Donald Trump. This is Vem Miller telling the story of what actually transpired.
bttt
Bongino reported this as a “nothing burger” yesterday. The weapons were in his car...I didn’t know that was against the law to have weapons in one’s vehicle. I’d been arrested too. I worry about the real assasins out there that conceal their weapons, identity, and location effectively. So far we’ve had two attempts by pikers.
