Fighting on the ground is gaining momentum both in the Donetsk region, where Russian Federation forces advance in multiple areas of the front, and also on the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian incursion is getting squeezed from the flanks, as Moscow endeavors to expel Kiev’s troops.

In the battle for the strategic city of Toretsk, the Ukrainian defenders now only control less than half the city as they try to stave off the Russian assault, according to the city’s local authorities.

Meanwhile there is another thread raging on FR about Ukraine raiding bars and restaurants checking papers for military aged people and if they aren’t in order, conscripting them.

Surely the next batch of poorly trained cannon fodder will turn the tide against Russia.

US’s long running Project Ukraine ( since 2014) is dead- failed- another colossal debacle….the war cheerleaders and their leader senile Joe needs to accept that reality.

This war is over.

The plan to send billions and run stories about Putin pooping himself is working.

Quit being so negative.

And so it goes…Christians killing Christians. Again.

Long ago I read a history of WW1. And I was amazed at how the Great Powers could be so stupid as to blunder into such a meat grinder.

We are seeing the exact same thing with Ukraine vs. Russia, just on a smaller scale. As was in WW1, there are no clean hands in this present conflict. Plenty of blame to go around.

Trump 2.0 might be able to broker a fair peace. Perhaps no one else can.

The people who wanted it got PLENTY of money. This lost war has been a great success.

It will end when NATO/US pulls the plug. This is always the worst part of these ‘created wars’, the losing side doesn’t want to admit defeat so they waste lives delaying the inevitable.

The war is a stalemate. They need to draw a line in the battlefield and agree to a ceasefire.

“The war is a stalemate. They need to draw a line in the battlefield and agree to a ceasefire.”

That is the funniest thing I’ve read in quite a while, thanks!

I posted a stat as you can see. They are barely making gains in Ukraine while taking heavy casualties.

The Soviets had the twice the population of modern day Russia and yet they still withdrew from Afghanistan despite taking less casualties during the whole Afghan War than the Russians suffered during the battle of Bakhmut.

A forced conscript means there’s a lack of volunteer troops.

Something is making Ukrainians think that this war isn’t worth fighting.

A 10% kickback is the only reality Joe cares about.

Afghanistan is 1000 miles from Russia, Ukraine is on Russia’s border. HUGE difference.

Yes. But their losses are not sustainable. This isn't the Soviet Union. Or the Russian Empire.

If Trump wins, both parties will agree to a ceasefire.

Hard to see Russia agreeing to a cease fire, even with Trump pushing and threatening. For starters, Russia has to know that Trump understands the destructive power of nuclear weapons, unlike the Neocons and the military ‘experts’ on TV (and a few trolls here), for Trump, nuclear war is to be avoided at all costs. Likewise Putin also understands the same.

So what happens when there is a cease fire? Simple, UKRAINE JOINS NATO, regardless of what the Neocons ‘agree’ to regarding the cease fire, as the Neocons have already proven that their signature (and promises) don’t mean Shiite (think Minsk 1 and Minsk 2). Obviously that is completely unacceptable to Russia.

Thus, the only end I see to this war, assuming that we live through it, is Russia fully liberating Ukraine, with the possibility of returning to Poland their land in far West Ukraine (the Nazi-infested area), and similar for Hungary - getting their lands back.

Sad, but Ukraine is good example of what happens when a country drinks the Neocon Kool-Aid. Eventually all countries will learn this lesson.

Ironically, your own graph contradicts the claim the war is stalemate.

Trump cares about America First and isn't going to keep pouring money into a lost war being fought so our elite can make a buck.

He will certainly cut military funding off to Ukraine and that will force Ukraine to take any deal it can get it.

It's the Ukrainian losses that aren't sustainable.

Only idiot the propaganda about Russian losses.
