Kamala Harris is slipping, and she knows it. As we've noted, she is on a media blitz trying to stem the bleeding, but her problem is that she is her own worst enemy. Her decisions are so stupid she is clearly making them on her own.
She chose to wine and dine with big time donors on the west coast as hurricane Helene slammed Florida. After taking flak for it, she decided she would inject herself into the disaster business with Milton on the way and put in a call to Gov Ron DeSantis.
He wouldn't take her call, or perhaps someone didn't take her call.
Someone in the White House wanted the media knew about the calls.Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not taking calls from Vice President Kamala Harris about storm recovery just over a week after Hurricane Helene hammered parts of his state.
A source familiar with the situation said he was dodging the Democratic presidential nominee’s calls because they “seemed political,” according to a DeSantis aide.
“Kamala was trying to reach out, and we didn’t answer,” the DeSantis aide told NBC News.
Harris did not dispute NBC News‘ reporting Monday that DeSantis had dodged her calls about storm recovery just over a week after Hurricane Helene devastated parts of Florida. CNN, citing a White House official, also reported that Harris had reached out to the governor multiple times since the hurricane made landfall, but that her team has yet to receive a response from DeSantis.Harris also wanted to make sure the media knew she was indignant about it and lit into DeSantis:

"People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations - these are the height of emergency situations - is just utterly irresponsible," Harris continued. "It is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first."
DeSantis let her have it

DeSantis made clear that he, and not FEMA is in command of relief efforts

I had to laugh the other day when FL Lt. Gov wanted to know if kowmala is the new ‘hurricane helper’.
A Kamala presidency would be a Category 11 disaster for America, fortunately this is entirely avoidable if enough Americans smarten-up.
She’s now the hurricane czar. She’s from hurricane free California. Never saw a border she liked and now never saw a hurricane she didn’t like to politicize

What she should have done is to praise DeSantis effusively. Say what a great job he's done, how he's worked so well with Biden and others in a non-partisan manner to manage the preparations and aftermath of the hurricane, etc..
And then blast Trump for having disparaged DeSantis as "Meatball Ron", "Little D", etc.. Remind all voters, and especially wavering Republicans, that Trump himself tore DeSantis down with insults. Ask what kind of a leader tears down and insults other competent people, even those in his own party, just because they don't kiss his ring.
But, she and her advisors are too stupid, too arrogant, and too blinded by their own progressivism to even consider complimenting a conservative. So instead, she finds herself blasted by both DeSantis and Biden on this issue.
There was a layup right there for her, and of course, she blew it. Which apparently is something at which she's very, very good.
DeSantis is way too smart to fall into such a stupid and obvious trap. If he did decide to make a comment, my guess is he would just shrug and say, "That's politics, Kamala. Maybe read a book about it sometime. I've got work to do."
Now, hardcore Trump supporters wouldn't care about that, and it wouldn't matter to committed Kamala supporters either. But to wavering Republicans and independents, it's a good approach for her.
But it is a sign of the Democrats own partisanship that she didn't/couldn't do that.
Just because she is an expert in big blows doesn’t mean she knows jack about hurricanes.

A democrat would rather set themselves on fire than give a leader like Governor DeSantis a compliment.
All they know how to do is punish people that they deem their enemy and ruin their lives if possible.
Harris’ core problem is that she’s either 1) stupid; or 2) ignorant, because she lacks any sense of work ethic or intellectual curiosity. So all she can do is speak in meaningless generalities, most of which are themselves pretty screwed up.
She’s displayed, at the least, glaring incompetency.
32 days. Imagine that.
And the Teleprompter gets stuck and all she can do is keep repeating herself.
So, yeah, I would rate that as being pretty stupid.
I don’t remember the Constitution having “co-ordinating hurricane relief” among the duties of the Vice President.
Generally, yes. The only time they will ever do it is when it benefits them, or on rare times of national crisis/disaster That's why Biden praised DeSantis. And if Harris or the people around her had been able to think, they could have recognized a perfect opportunity to benefit her by ripping the scab off the Trump/DeSantis battle.
But instead of instigating problems between Trump and those who support DeSantis, she chose to instigate problems between her and both Biden and DeSantis on one of the few occasions voters don't want to hear partisanship.
She's just...dumb
Maybe she can do another podcast with some other bubblehead and talk about frat Daddys and the benefits of semen drinking.
One can be both, and Harris is.
