Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) failed to show up for a debate with his Republican opponent for the U.S. Senate, Kari Lake. It was hardly a hostile venue for a Democrat -- Arizona PBS.
This would seem like a big deal...unless you are writing cover for him at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix, the state's largest newspaper (owned by Gannett). The headline about the scheduled debate published on their azcentral.com website does not even mention the no-show by Gallego: "Kari Lake assails economic data, Ruben Gallego and media host in new interview."

Hobbs skipped the debate with Lake during the 2022 gubernatorial campaign as well. Cowardice doesn’t seem to hurt Democrats with their base voters, however.
We call it the Arizona Repulsive…it is basically USA Today with a few local articles.
Whatever it is called, the Dem tactics seem popular with Arizona voters. Or should I say, with those who prepare the ballots that will be counted.
Unfortunately. recent polls show Kari Lake 10 points behind.
Her opponent probably doesn’t see any need for a debate at this point. Kari may be one of those stunningly overqualified people who simply cannot win elections. Somewhat like Colonel West or Sarah Palin. They fully connect with some voters, but are unknown, unliked or seen as extreme by other voters.
The paradox of all unique personalities.
Elon Musk would have a tough time winning elections too, and for the same reasons.
If AZ elects this guy, they deserve every illegal immigrant they get.
Kari who? I guess he showed you what he thinks.
The cheat is in.
Sort of like the Washington Compost, The New York Slimes, the Minneapolis Red Star-Tribune, and the Austin American-Birdcage Liner.
“Kari who?”

Kari Lake’s candidacy is a case study in how to blow what should have been a winnable race. Winning a statewide race in a swing state is an exercise in building coalitions (consolidate the GOP and bring in many independents).
She began by telling the McCain faction of the GOP to go to hell. While that’s a great applause line for the base, it also forfeits 20% of the AZ electorate. Next, she called her GOP primary opponent (Sherrif Mark Lamb) a coward. Shortly thereafter, 14 GOP elected sheriffs condemned her, causing her to issue a belated apology.
As recently as 2012, she was a supporter and contributor to Barak Obama. While it’s painful that a left wing idealogue like Gallegos will waltz into the Senate, the AZ GOP will hopefully have learned its lesson by nominating such a flawed and untested candidate.
Yeah, but - she looks good on TV.
Too many Cali’s have moved to AZ.
Az Republic is owned by Gannett. Gannett is owned by Fortress Investment Group. Fortress Investment Group LLC was founded as a private equity firm in 1998 by Wesley R. Edens, a former partner at BlackRock; Rob Kauffman, a managing director at UBS; and Randal A. Nardone, also a managing director at UBS.
They have been and are involved with:
BlackRock
Goldman Sachs
Lehman Brothers
United Bank Swiss
Softbank Group
Apollo Management Group
Mubadala Investment Company (Abu Dhabi Government)
Carlyle Group
Manwin Company/Aylo (Pornhub)
Cornell University
Mindgeek (Playboy TV)
Ethical Capital Partners
And many more connections. They are a New World Order propaganda and mind control machine straight up.
Gannett stinks out loud.
Also she has a habit of sending out fundraising texts that say siht like “I’m losing!”.
Well OK then, go ahead and lose.
Personally I think she’s getting some very bad advice, like she chose the wrong person to run her campaign.
A unit of the propaganda arm of The Democrat Party Organized Crime Syndicate doing their best to protect the criminal activities of The Syndicate.
Anyone who still supports the Democrats has an evil and criminal heart, mind and soul.
Anyone.
It could be newspaper writers or people talking on tv or singers or relatives.
Anyone.
They have an evil and criminal heart, mind and soul.
Nor with the almighty and discerning independents who are somehow always put off by the least little thing done by a conservative.
Duck and dodge and let the media cover for you. It’s the democrat way.
I suppose when one is 15 points ahead in the polls, there is more to lose than to show up for the debate. I hope Kari wins, but she is astronomically unlikeable, following in the footsteps of Martha McSally, Christine O’Donnell and others.
