John Oats of Hall and Oats took up racing seriously some years ago, until he had an accident and realized that he couldn’t be a parttime racer and fulltime musician without being a danger and threat to himself and those he was racing with.

Me too. Reeves seems content to not be a celebrity so much as being a decent human being.

Yep, Keanu is an overall good guy. Patrick Dempsey got into LeMans several years ago as the amateur driver on the team he started. From wiki: Dempsey enjoyed a fair amount of success on the track. He placed on the podium in the Rolex 24 At Daytona twice, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and also won the World Endurance Championship’s Six Hours of Fuji in 2015.

That’s great but, dude, like Tom Cruise you’re over 60 years old and it WILL catch up. Have fun but it’s wise to minimize physical risks as limitations accumulate.
To: Red Badger
I hope he stays healthy and well and doesn’t kill himself.
To: MikelTackNailer
Yep, hard to realize Keanu is 60.....Seems like only a few years ago they were doing the Bill & Ted movies...........

A number of entertainers have raced: Most famous and successful was of course Paul Newman. Others I am aware of are: Steve McQueen, James Garner (Baja 1000), Patrick Dempsey (Le Mans, IMSA), Bruce Jenner (1980s IMSA), Dusty Hill (ZZ Top Daytona 24 hrs), Gene Hackman (Daytona 24 hrs), Tim Allen (Trans Am), Craig T Nelson (IMSA), David Carradine (Le Mans). I’m sure there were others too.

The first one is still one of the all time greatest movies. So much fun. Bogus Journey was pretty good too. They shouldn’t have made the last one, though.

“Good for him.”
He is 60. He has changed, the racing world has changed.
