Imagine it is October 2025. A ceasefire has been achieved between Russia and Ukraine. Moscow’s attention shifted to North America. Canada’s left-wing prime minister leaned toward making a trade deal with Russia and its Central Asian partners. Washington, however, offered a last-minute financial sweetener, an early Christmas present of sorts, and Ottawa turned back to the U.S.
Angry crowds hit the streets, causing chaos in Canada’s capital. Moscow promotes the violence, as its propagandists lauded democracy in action. When the police give way, Canada’s premier flees south. Russian operatives begin putting their candidates for office forward, and new elections confirm a sharp shift toward Russia, which invites Ottawa to join the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The U.S. responds by invading Canada. The Canucks prove surprisingly resilient against personnel used to fighting distant irregulars, and Moscow floods Canada with weapons, including missiles, for use against America. The first salvo results in strikes on cities across America, including on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC.

If Kommy-u-la wins the US Army won't be used to fight anyone.
They all will be in the hospital getting their sex change operations or hormone therapy.
Which is interesting in that the author does not consider that Russia already has several “Canadas” to deal with. Russia has made many enemies along its borders, the Baltics, Poland, Romania, Finland, Sweden, etc. All of these have the armaments (on their own) that the Russians object to. And all of them have hosted US NATO units, permanently or for exercises, or soon will. To make Russia “safe” it will have to invade all of Europe, by this logic.
It is therefore defective logic.
Or there is the example of Soviet Missiles in Cuba.
The US absolutely will not tolerate that. That is not unusual by the way. Try putting missiles or troops in Ireland and see how Britain historically reacts. I can draw example after example. Major powers simply will not allow such encroachments by other major powers in their backyards. You can jump up and down and scream about sovereignty all you like. That ain't gonna change anything. They won't tolerate it.
You can't make Neocons grasp that no matter how you explain it. Their mentality is "us good, them bad" and they refuse to get out of that grade school mindset. Of course their foreign policy prescriptions will only lead to catastrophe.
I suggest trying to see things from other eyes indeed. Such as Ukrainian eyes, or Polish, or Estonian.
...and what if Russia threatened our cities from a neighboring country?
Never mind, best to not go there on a conservative site.
Is it beyond the realm of possible that the drug cartels who essentially, “control” Mexico, would formally align with Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and arm themselves up enormously? What would and should the US response be to something like that?
Are we invading Quebec? Because we tried that once and our capital was burned to the ground.
We learned our lesson in 1812.
Russia hasn’t learned their lesson I guess.
With Castro’s bastard in charge what makes you sure there aren’t?
Once upon a time there was only one country totally surrounded by hostile communist regimes.
Today we call that country Russia...
Ummm... I bet there is.
All this moral equivalency BS is socialist/communist propaganda. The US is not the equivalent of the Soviet Union or Russia. Russia has a centuries old history of invading its neighbors.
Americans completely ignore that the biggest from neocon empire-building across the ocean, is destruction of the Republic and freedom here at home.
—> It is therefore defective logic.
Zeeper one-sided thinking Placemarker!
—> You can’t make Neocons grasp that no matter how you explain it.
“Devoid of critical thinking skills” as noted in the common definition of Zeeper.
What if Canada had attempted to join the Warsaw pact during the cold war era? Would anyone in the US have been defending Canada’s “sovereignty”?

The cold war era ended in the 1990s, and imperial Russia is long gone. These days, the socialist/LGBT/world-government movement is coming out of what used to be called the West and its allied regimes like Venezuela and China. Under the Biden regime, we are no longer the good guys.
Russia was forced to play nice for a time following the fall of the USSR under its own failed economy and policies. Putin's goal is to restore Imperial Russia. He has been at work at that for more than two decades.
