A shocking Facebook post from a local Springfield community group has sparked alarm after a resident shared a disturbing exchange with her neighbor regarding the safety of pets and local wildlife.
The post, shared by a concerned resident, began with a stark warning: “Warning to all about our beloved pets & those around us!!!”
The resident recounted a disturbing exchange with her neighbor, who revealed that her daughter’s friend had tragically lost her pet cat. The concerned pet owner had searched tirelessly, checking online lost pet pages, local animal shelters, and asking neighbors if they had seen her missing feline.
However, the search ended in horror. According to the neighbor, one day, after returning home from work, she spotted her lost cat in a neighboring yard.
The disturbing detail? The cat was reportedly hanging from a tree branch, allegedly being carved for consumption. The residents of the home in question were identified as a Haitian family.
The original poster further claimed that similar incidents had been happening with other animals in the community, including dogs. The post also alleged that authorities, such as park rangers and local police, had reported similar acts involving ducks and geese in Snyder Park.

some women like to have their kitty eaten...
“We no see cat belong you! No ask more!”
Oh, no. I saw some meme today with Trump running away from illegals with a cat under his arm. It was quite timely.
There is a fine line between eating pets and cannibalism......................
Someone on twitter suggested that Trump appear tomorrow at the debate with a cat..if he does that he breaks the internet, thats it!
Oh, ya. He can make his point w/o saying a word!
Short pig.
Pig. Long pig. Short pig. ‘s all good, man.
I live in Southern NJ. lots of possums in our area. We pretty much leave them alone. Ticks are one of their major food sources and their body temperature is so low that the rabies virus rarely affect them.
I have never heard of anyone from the Dominican, Jamaica, Trinidad, etc. doing this.
Good idea. I’m a cat lady and Daisy and I are furious about this.
I once visited Tioman Island/Malaysia...seems “boat people” had come that way. All the iguanas disappeared in short order. It was said they really DO taste like chicken.
Good idea.
Just sent entire article to my friend, a Dem cat lady.
Wow, that is good! 👍🏻 👌🏻
Their country is such a shithole. It’s hard to believe it’s on the same island as the Dominican Republic. Generations of bad government causes massive poverty. When you’re starving you would probably eat pretty much anything so cats aren’t surprising.
I’m ok with them gobbling up all the roadkill though. Even better would be to send them back home and come up with a process to send all of it to them. Or send them to Martha’s Vinyard and the like. That would make a bigger point than when they shipped in the Mexican illegals. They snatch up some Kennedy’s pet cat and they’ll be out fast.
Then they will be shot.
I am a Ohio resident.
You are a moron.
The cat wondered off the property.
I was just pointing that out.
Do you let your pets run wild?
Expect wild things to happen.
Your rude reply shows who the actual moron, here.
Where, in the article, does it say the cat ‘wondered off the property’?
A vid I saw showed a Haitian woman killing/eating a cat, ON the per owners property.
Your being an Ohio resident doesn’t mean squat!
You have your eyes closed to what is going on, with these Haitians, who consider eating cats a delicacy. Whether the cat/pet is in their owner’s yard, or not (which still doesn’t make it right).
The local PD put it this way...
That there is a lack of “credible evidence”...
That smells.
If I were the locals I’d start filing FOIL requests for reports to see if a) the local PD stonewalls and/or b) has an interesting definition of the word “credible”.

I’m not wrong.
