When you think of an ideal teachers union president, perhaps what comes to mind is someone who cares deeply about children, learning, and improving the lives of educators. But if you're American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten, you care more about inserting yourself into the far-left political sphere and constantly spewing out inflammatory rhetoric.
Why a teachers union boss feels the need to weigh in on the Israel-Hamas war is beyond me, but there was Weingarten on social media Sunday, essentially blaming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the Hamas killings of six hostages, including 23-year-old Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

She was responding to a post by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew, who had expressed his condolences to the families of the slain hostages.
We are heartbroken and outraged at the news that Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five other hostages were killed in the hands of Hamas. As President Biden and Secretary Blinken just said, we will not rest until all of the hostages are home. We grieve with Jon and Rachel Goldberg-Polin and their families, pray for them to find comfort, and commit to bringing all the other hostages safely home.— Ambassador Jack Lew (@USAmbIsrael) September 1, 2024
Former ambassador David Friedman clapped back, writing on X, "Ok, I’ll play. Ms. Weingarten, expert as you are in matters of hostage negotiations and national security, please tell me the terms of the deal that Hamas had agreed to that Netanyahu refused. Please be specific..."
He continued:
Weingarten, a staunch progressive, received sharp criticism for the post from pro-Israel corners, including former U.S. Ambassador David Friedman. Listing out what supposed conditions of a deal Netanyahu violated, he wrote, "Maybe there was a great deal on the table that Bibi blew. But unless you can answer all these questions, your comment is just insensitive political drivel that further divides the Jewish people already in crisis."

Weingarten is a truly loathsome sort, always sticking her head into places where it does not belong.

She was no friend of children during COVID, arguing for the endless closures of schools, and she seems to glom onto every ultra-progressive movement she can find. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo nailed it in 2022:
If you ask, “Who’s the most likely to take this republic down?” It would be the teacher’s unions, and the filth that they’re teaching our kids, and the fact that they don’t know math and reading or writing...
American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten and her fellow travelers have crippled our nation’s schools.
Neither the nation's children nor their teachers are served by Weingarten weighing in on divisive matters in which she has no expertise (or, apparently, compassion) and purposefully fanning the flames of antisemitism. We'd all be better off if she'd just put a lid on it.

This kind of logic is why our children’s education ranks near the bottom in the civilized world.

THEY took the hostages of their own volition. They were not forced to.
THEY are keeping on holding them.
THEY *CHOSE* to slaughter them as soon as rescue was imminent.
NOBODY forced their hand.
If they want an end to hostilities, all they have to do is release the rest of the hostages.

I did a little research on Ms Randi a little while ago.
Turns out she gets almost $500K per year in salary and perks.
Couldn’t find any of her “students,” so I never knew exactly what courses or subjects she ever taught.
But I did see several videos of her screaming at Democrat campaign events.

They have proven that will never happen. The last thing they want is an end to hostilities. Consider the hostages dead and kill everything in those tunnels and the ruins above them. The pity is that it's too close to Israel to use nukes to sterilize it.
