The Force was not with “The Acolyte.”

The “Star Wars” series — deemed “woke” by many online fans — was recently canceled after only one season, which came as a surprise to some of the cast members.

Lee Jung-Jae, who played Master Sol in the Disney+ show, reacted to the cancellation in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Friday.

The 8-episode series has faced intense online backlash for its progressive themes, with many fans calling out the alleged overt LGBTQ propaganda that was part of the show.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an 18% rating from the audience.

There is a rumor right now that Disney may yank Acolyte from Disney+ completely and turn it into a tax write-off. They’ve already pulled all the Acolyte toys/merchandise from their online store.

Did they do this show just to get a good ESG score from from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)?

Most of the criticism was not aimed at the wokeness, but the very poor character development and storytelling. Yet another case where the MSM is trying to blame SWM’s for being intolerant. The only intolerance is that for inept writing, acting and directing.

18% of the public like it BUT 78% of 246 critics gave the series a positive review.

Lots of shows have been canceled after one season. Why does the Left think they can get all butthurt over something that other people don’t like?

It wasn’t just the wokeness that made it suck. Although that didn’t help.

The Jedi were the bad guys.

Jedi included fat and stupid people (men, of course). So much for elite warriors.

The plot was stupid.

Acting was bad.

Add to that man hating and white hating. Yes, it was painful.

Too bad it bombed ....

I wonder if Disney is still going to run Harris’ Acolyte campaign ads......with Walz dressed as a Jedi?

Because they live in a self-reinforced bubble of alternate reality. Their breakaway culture and real life are irreconciliable, and the ultimate clash with hard truth will not go as they expect - although their boundless capacity for delusion, projection, and willful ignorance may maintain their obliviousness.

Disney's handing of The Acolyte should become a classic case study of delusional corporate bungling at an epic level, and it probably will if the business schools haven't gone too woke to handle it. Star Wars was already dying of sequel disease before Disney bought it. (It was in critical condition by the end of the first trilogy.) Disney bought it and decided to turn it into a girls' brand. Kathleen Kennedy pushed it into the Mary Sue era. And then ....

The Acolyte was announced and teased as an origin story for the Sith. That might have had potential for people still interested in the brand. (Not me; I was long gone.) But then Kathleen Kennedy put Leslye Headland in charge and it went straight off a cliff.

From the very first get-go, ALL the Disney PR for the show was centered on "The Message." The Force was female. The Acoyte was going to be all about women ... and it was also going to be the gayest Star Wars ever and queer down to its bones. With Harvey Weinstein's former personal assistant in charge, which is now an obligatory reference in most of the critics' reactions.

It got worse from there, with Leslye Headland casting her (female) spouse in a main role -- and sitting for interviews with Amandla Stenberg in which the two chattered mainly about queering the show and making everything women centric.

Meanwhile, the production itself was a shambles, far over budget with seemingly endless rewrites and reshoots. But the Queer Star Wars drumbeat never let up. It is hard to think of anything more Disney could have done to alienate most of the existing Star Wars fanbase, as well as about 90 percent of the country. Why? Because Bob Iger, and apparently the Disney board, were committed to turning all things Disney into propaganda vehicles for the Queer New World.

The Acolyte was dead before it was released. If there weren't so many egos involved, and if Disney's leadership weren't such ideological zealots, they might have simply cancelled the project and taken the tax writeoff. That would probably have been a better business move.

It was supposed to be a "hit" but reality stepped in.

“If you tell a beautiful woman that she is beautiful, what have you given her? It's no more than a fact and it has cost you nothing. But if you tell an ugly woman that she is beautiful, you offer her the great homage of corrupting the concept of beauty. (This goes for praising bad shows for being woke and alphabet friendly.)

To love a woman for her virtues is meaningless. She's earned it, it's a payment, not a gift. But to love her for her vices is a real gift, unearned and undeserved. To love her for her vices is to defile all virtue for her sake - and that is a real tribute of love, because you sacrifice your conscience, your reason, your integrity and your invaluable self-esteem.” ― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

If John Williams isn’t doing the music, then it ain’t Star Wars.

At least the Fandom Menace’s YouTube coverage of it all was HILARIOUS! Disparu, Doomcock (Overlord DVD), Nerdrotic, The Critical Drinker, Call Me Chato, That Star Wars Girl, and more, were all on fire. They’re the best part.

The creator of the Wokelyte, Leslye Headland, worked six years for Miramax under Harvey Weinstein, including one year as his personal assistant. She claims she didn't witness any "incidents".

This show of woke was doomed before it ever filmed.

George Lucas squeezed all the juice out of the Star War franchise, then sold it to Disney.
Still could be a profitable property, but Disney hasn't been into making profits lately.

I’ll take some of this as a SWM.

I don’t want to see two Yoda’s in the night. Exchanging glances.

And doing God-knows-what with their schwartz’
