a shelf life of—prepare yourself for this—25 long years
So the emergency rations I bought in 1999 are just about expired now?
Shot guns ,pump and semi auto, semi auto pistols ,9mm,.45 ,10mm, 22lr ,bolt action rifles, couple of S&W Revolvers .38/.357 , 44mag,matching hand gun and rifle caliber. Bug out ammo and hand gun bag.
Lots and lots of ammo. Ammo will be worth as much as silver and gold. always carry a gun or two on your person. Keep your head on a swivel and don’t trust anyone but immediate family. Practice, Practice ,Practice Without at least some of these you are doomed.
You’re welcome, a month or so back I saw mention of someone trying to remember Selco and His Website and I knew what they were referring to but I couldn’t remember His name. One of those on the “tip of the brain/tounge things” and I couldn’t recall it. Then tonight while reading the “lighter brand name argument” on this thread, WHAMO !!! I suddenly remembered His name was Selco.
I guess My mind was rusted shut like a steel trap until someone sprayed Me with WD-40...🤪

“Invest in a couple thousand Bic lighters. They will trade better than gold.”
Cheap bourbon and coffee. Play to the vices.
Embrace cannibalism. Food will be just walkin’ around askin’ for it...
A” one-ounce silver coin is currently worth about $30.”
You need smaller denominations...
Newbie....have a little respect.
Remember Y2K ...
(From the Article) :”When I was growing up, I never once heard the words “prepper” or “prepping”.
”But now a very large portion of the population is actively preparing for the collapse of society. “ (Emphasis theirs)
”According to numbers that come from FEMA, approximately 20 million Americans have prepared well enough to be able to be on their own for at least a month…”
”According to an analysis of Federal Emergency Management Agency data, some 20 million Americans can withstand a full month of self-reliance.
Within that number, there are those who identify as part of “preppers” communities online,
which include enthusiasts stocking up on years’ worth of supplies or building bunkers. “
”Of course being prepared to survive for one month is not going to be nearly good enough to survive what is eventually coming."
”But at least it is something."
(The article then lists what they consider a reliable Prepper pantry (and tool shed ) of 50 suggested items
View the entire article and consider what supplies you think that you are running shallow on, and then consider resupply.
These are just suggested items, your need and ability and finances may need to be adjusted according to you and your family's needs.
Think logically and tactically,.. without emotional drama .
” We are moving into times of immense societal chaos.
This election is going to tear our country apart, vast numbers of people will die during the wars and famines that are ahead of us,
it is just a matter of time before the next global pandemic strikes, and if you live long enough you are going to get to witness cataclysmic natural disasters that are beyond anything that Hollywood has ever dreamed up.”
"Right now, we are still only in the very early stages of this “perfect storm”,
but I fully expect global events to start moving very, very rapidly in the coming months."(Emphasis theirs)
Prepare logically ...
The ballots are in the mail.
Due to an unexpected medical expense, I am in dire straits financially at the moment, so my best plan is to drive 1 hr to my cousins place. It’s on a hill, well armed (and her hubby makes his own ammo), has a creek and plenty of wildlife there, and a well stocked freezer from their huge garden...and she has invited me to head that way if shtf. The one thing that gives me peace in this bump in the road I’m currently in. This too shall pass and I’ll be OK in a few months...PTL!
That is my hurricane season checklist.
#51. Six cases of 1.75L Bushmills (or Jamesons)
#52. 200 Romeo y Juliet cigars
LOL, I didn’t know that was you, I thought you meant we should all have one of those girls to keep us warm, of course now I understand how you wearing that would guarantee your staying warm.
We’re good for at least a year... Plus plenty of water, game to shoot and fish to catch.
I’ll miss the beer but that’s about it.
Yes, a lot of us gave up on Scripto and have made sure that for survival we stay with Bics, you seem to think they have recently improved but my advice is stick with Bic.
My experience and the experience of other preppers and outdoorsmen for years and years and discussed on many forums for prepping, knives, backpacking and other outdoorsman activities says Bic is the best and Scripto is weak.
This is a case where a few pennies isn’t worth it.
Just figure out the best routes and alternates to the United States....Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, Wisconsin etc. You’ll have plenty of new friends and sustenance there.
You dress up in pink baby dolls?
Never would have guessed!
Hi.
Sounds like preparation for a hurricane.
