The Biden administration's response has focused mainly on arms control efforts aimed at preventing Russia from acquiring a space-based nuclear weapon in the first place.

Remember that Bush pulled out of the ABM treaty. Prolly thought Russia couldn't do anything about it. Our nuclear arms industry is about as badly off as our non-nuclear defense industry.
