Back in 2007 I was in Bashra on a UK base for the 4th, the Brits did a BBQ for us. Good times.

We fired our guns and the British kept a'coming
There wasn't quite as many as there were a while ago
We fired once more and they began a'running
Down the Mississippi to the Golf of Mexico.
Can't imagine why they would object.
Next time try singing "Sink the Bismarck". :)

The dead give away was ordering a cold beer and a hot dog rather than a pint and a sausage in a roll……
….but good for you for reminding them about the red, white, and blue.

Considering that the “Battle of New Orleans” happened several months AFTER the treaty of Ghent was signed, it makes little sense that someone would celebrate nearly destroying a hard-fought peace treaty.

You'll get better service if order a pint of stout, porter or lager and expect it to be warm, along with a banger with mash. And when you grab the karaoke mic, sing Stonewall Jackson's
Waterloo.

Pretty sure everyone is familiar with the Johnny Horton version, but some years back I was surprised to learn he wasn't the first one to do it.
This guy called "Jimmy Driftwood", and in a lot of ways, I like his version better!

Certainly has a lot more and different lyrics.

Got 86d from my first bar in 83 for singing several verses of “The Girl I left Behind Me” at the top of my lungs.
