The Pacific appears increasingly nearer to war as Chinese vessels encircled and boarded military resupply boats belonging to a key American ally.

Tensions erupted as the Chinese Coast Guard seized ships of a Philippine Navy resupply mission that was underway near the Second Thomas Shoal. The Armed Forces of the Philippines revealed pictures of the Monday confrontation in a social media post, calling the attack “coercive, aggressive, and barbaric.”

Videos show the resupply mission turning to blows as China became involved. In one clip, Chinese sailors could be seen waving and swinging axes, machetes and other melee weapons as the boats closed in to become a chaotic mass.

China is running out of resources, so it needs the resources of other nations for itself.

Is S.E.A.T.O. still in force? Do we still hhave any defense obligations with Manila?
Wish we still had Subic Bay and Cam Ranh Bay bases too.

Sure be nice to have Russia on our side, or at least neutral, given the confrontation with China, which we all knew was coming. But no, Russia chose to NOT allow pedophile access to their kids, so now they’re our ‘enemy’, and here we are.

China should be watchful that a “Rod from God”, ahem, I mean meteorite, doesn’t have the bad luck to fall on the Three Gorges Dam. Karma is a b*tch.

The Philippines were intent to squirm out from under the protection provided by the United States.

Too bad for them there is a hungry wolf in the neighborhood; one that understands that with Biden in control the U.S. could not help the Philippines if they wanted.

We do have an agreement with the Philippines. Not sure it's worth the paper it's written on though.

The Biden Worshipers, the NEO Cons, the Globalists saw to it that this was not going to happen. In fact, the Biden Worshipers and NEO CONs, Etal and their ilk joined forces in holy matrimony to present a united front to start a full blown nuclear war between Russia and the united States of America. All to ensure that the Republican and Democrat money laundering operation based in Ukraine remained untouched. Along with the contents of Biden’s secret Bio Labs in Ukraine remaining unknown to the World At Large.

The goal of the Left was to have a world without America at the pinnacle providing stability. Now they have it.

This incident could be overlooked by the media, by the White House, or it could spark devastatingly destructive world wide consequences. I don’t think the Biden Gang is up to it, so China will get away with metaphorically ‘kicking sand in Uncle Sam’s face’. This sounds like something North Korea has wanted to do for a long time.

The Chinese and the Russians trust each other as much as the Russians trusted the Germans prior to WWII. Any agreement is one of convenience, and if necessary, would be abrogated in a heartbeat if Russia found it expedient for its benefit. The tensions between America and Russia may linger far into the future for sure. If Biden is cheated into office again, those tensions are guaranteed for four more years.

"The Philippines were intent to squirm out from under the protection provided by the United States."

My opinion hasn't changed about this since the early 1990's. The Philippine Government very stupidly cancelled military base agreements. The wolf is at the door indeed.

I do get it with China and Russia, they’re friends of convenience, for now and will likely stay that way until at least the end of the Ukraine War. My only point was that we never even needed that to happen.

Russia would never fight China for us, but given their friendliness towards each other, I wouldn’t be surprised if they share intelligence against us (satellite, electronic intercepts, etc.). Again, something that didn’t have to happen.

It would be a waste of words to caution the Left to be careful what they wish for.

Obama and his fellow travelers want to destroy the US. He has multiple properties here. Where does he think he is going to live after they have succeeded in destroying our country?

These countries also have bilateral agreements between themselves.

Ex - https://thediplomat.com/2023/11/japan-philippines-agree-to-intensify-defense-cooperation/

These are not alliances, formally, but that is a fig leaf.

Subic bay and Cam Ranh bay or even Clark AFB woul be of little use now.

These were logistics, hq and rear area bases, even shipyards. They would be way too close to China these days to be useful in these functions, as they are in range of most of the Chinese arsenal. They would also be vulnerable concentrated targets.

What the US has with its current Philippine basing agreement is the use of a large number of Philippine military bases and other dispersed sites, with the intention of using these to support rapidly deployed missile systems and air operations.

Instead of rear area assets, this agreement is about combat units. This was the subject of the recent large scale joint forces exercise Balikatan 2024. https://news.usni.org/2024/05/09/u-s-and-philippine-forces-defend-island-chain-near-taiwan-in-balikatan-2024-exercise
