If that fire impingement on the wing and flaps lasted very long, it might become a tank problem.
Jim Hoft needs to take a chill pill. It was a compressor stall. It happens. The engine often stops the compressor stall when brought back to toward idle. The jet equivalent to a backfire. Emergency yes, but Hoft’s panicked breathing is reminiscent of a 12 year old girl when she loses her diary.

Jim Hoft misinterpreted a technical alert from the FAA which has ZERO to do with a compressor stall or even related to it.
The fire seen is coming from behind the engine which is normal with some compressor stalls. Believe it or not, when that happens, it is preferable to when the compressor stall permits forward pressure at the intake of the engine.
Regardless, it is something that every pilot is rigorously trained to handle.

That AD is for a missing ground strap on a vent for the center wing tank, and was determined to be an item that can be corrected during the next scheduled deep maintenance cycle.
