The list of everyday necessities the climate fanatics at The Washington Post choose to complain about as enemies of Gaia continues to grow at an exponential rate.
The Post threw a fit over the upcoming Olympic Games “taking a farcical turn” against Paris organizers’ supposed commitment to maintaining the “greenest Olympics” ever. The Athletes Village was supposed to not have air conditioning (AC) in the rooms because other eco-friendly cooling measures will be used, whined the leftist rag. However, The Post cried, “portable air-conditioning units will be everywhere. Wheeled in. Shipped in. Ordered by visiting countries that want their athletes to sleep well and perform at the highest level — even if it means a larger carbon footprint.” How dare athletes seek to maximize comfort between rounds of the brutal physical exertion that defined the Olympic Games since time immemorial, right Washington Post?
Talk about blowing a bunch of hot air.

For an athlete performing at the limits of human capacity, staying cool is not a luxury but a vital medical necessity.
If they felt benevolent, they would suspend use of their AC as an offset to the Olympic team.
They’re joining Greta in the tantrum business ? LOL
It’s so absurd now it defies logic. Dems are going to have to cheat the fall at levels it becomes obvious even to squishy independents.
That’s right.
I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m fed up with these crybullies. I’m not giving up my lifestyle for some imaginary pagan weather deity.
Indeed. “Comfort for me but not for thee.”
Paris can get into the upper 80s F in the late summer. It’s just dumb to expect Olympic athletes (or anyone else) to sleep comfortably in an 88 degree room.
So, the Olympics are killed the planet and must be banned?
You’re perfectly free to turn off your AC, Compost.
I’m certain the people shouting the loudest will have their A/C’s running full blast.
Electricity should be banned in all Compost facilities.
It is time for them to walk the walk.
Not necessarily connected to the issue of AC — but I wonder how many Olympic athletes will die suddenly this year?
Is the washpo located in a grass hut?
I thought that A/C wasn’t useful in my work vehicle and that it was being tougher to do without but when I eventually got put into an air-conditioned work van and enjoyed a cool environment between calls, I learned that it reduces fatigue over the day and keeps one fresher and feeling better, and increases worker efficiency, I was a better worker 10 hours into the work day than when without A/C.
A/C in their living and sleeping quarters is called for, to not have it is to be artificially reducing their comfort, energy, ability to relax and focus, while we can all endure 80 degrees at the office, we sure do better when it is cooler.
Who is their Pope?
And did the post writer write this from inside an air conditioned office?
When they go out for lunch/dinner/drinks do they go to bars that have A/C?
I lived in DC for a summer and it is impossible to bear the humidity without A/C.
Damn hypocrites.
