House Speaker Mike Johnson joined Fox Sunday to discuss House Republicans’ plans to investigate Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and Special Counsel Jack Smith for targeting political opponents.
It sounds like just more words from Speaker Johnson. We want to see action!
Shannon Bream: Now, I want to ask you about the verdict. Clearly, you think it’s a travesty, as many people do. And I think having watched the trial, there are many grounds, fertile territory for the Trump team to use on appeal, but that’s going to take time. In the meantime, there are a number of Republicans out there saying, You guys need to turn around and do this same thing. John, you’re writing this. Republicans have to bring charges against Democratic officers, even presidents. Only retaliation in kind can produce the deterrence necessary to enforce a political version of mutual assured destruction. The other side, Peggy Newton, writing about how high the temperature is, says this, We have to ease up. We have to stop enjoying our hate so much. We can’t go on indefinitely like this. Are you worried that Republicans will be perceived as doing the very thing you’re accusing Democrats of, of using the legal system for political purposes? If you follow John Hughes’ advice.
Speaker Johnson: Here’s what I believe, Shannon. Listen, we are the rule of law party. Chaos is not a conservative value, and we have to fight back, and we will, with everything in our arsenal. But we do that within the confines of the rule of law. We believe in our institutions. We are Conservatives, and we are trying to conserve the greatest country in the history of the world, and its institutions are an important part of that. Our system of justice is an important part of that.

Agree.
Turning point for the GOP.
Cowering behind old ladies’ skirts or fighting for justice in the nation on the brink of being fundamentally transformed by Leftists on the march.
Not a time for the timid.
What’s to investigate? It’s a flat out proven fact. These scumbags are pathetic with their anemic pronouncements.
Insider tip for the investigating agents:
To find Alvin Bragg look for a gross guy stuffing himself with both hands at the buffet table while talking with his mouth full about having brought justice within the system against a dangerous felon named Trump.
Can’t miss him.
Write ‘em a Strongly Worded Letter, Mikey...
Worthless lumps, all of ‘em except MTG and damn few others.
it’s called:
Selective prosecution — generally means prosecuting only one defendant when others who are similarly situated are not prosecuted, and doing so for an impermissible reason.
and it used to be against the law...
I’ve seen Republican investigations before. If anyone knows of a successful one, please drop it in this thread.
Oh I bet he’s really scared he knows the GOP has ZERO spine
Their arsenal of sternly worded letters and wet noodles.
That’s not the nature of the GOP; they’re ideological collaborators.
” We believe in our institutions. We are Conservatives, and we are trying to conserve the greatest country in the history of the world, and its institutions are an important part of that. Our system of justice is an important part of that. “
The instiutions have failed, and these f@gs have “conserved” nothing.
” I’ve seen Republican investigations before. If anyone knows of a successful one, please drop it in this thread. “
I won’t have that !
They expelled George Santos !
“But we do that within the confines of the rule of law. “
Weasel words. He’s basically saying we cant (and wont) really do anything. that’s one reason the country is sinking. There is no opposition to the party that does not care about the law unless it favors them.
It’s time for a new party and it’s time to take off the gloves.
Did he get permission from that weird looking Jeffries?
Conservatives believe in the Constitution, not “institutions”.
Mike Johnson says, he's so mad he could crush a grape. He definitely plans to investigate sometime in the next year.....or so.
Republicant’s are full of hot air. A lot of hot air and no action.
“Not a time for the timid.”
If I hear one more Republican talk about the need for “decorum” I’m afraid I’ll go mental.
Did the colonists tar and feather British tax collectors because they were showing “decorum”?
Did Abe send Sherman to Georgia to show “decorum”?
Did Harry S. drop the bomb to show “decorum”?
As I read your post, I was thinking, evidence is specific and we have to make sure it will stick. But then it occurred to me, we don’t need facts, make it up, lie and obfuscate, and make the commies defend themselves. You know, the democrat way.
Bares repeating
