A judge in Michigan was baffled when a man appearing in court via Zoom for a suspended driver’s license case attended the hearing while driving his car.
Court footage that has gone viral on X shows District Judge Cedric Simpson in complete disbelief as defendant Corey Harris attends court via Zoom while driving on a suspended license.
In the video, Simpson asks Harris, “Mr Harris, are you driving?”
Harris responded, “Actually, I’m pulling into my doctor’s office.”
After Harris responded, his public defender immediately asked for an adjournment for up to four weeks, to which Simpson replied, “Okay, so maybe I don’t understand something. This is a driving while license suspended [case], and he was driving, and he didn’t have a license.”

I don’t understand, why should this man not have the right to travel to a doctors appointment?
I mean under Biden it can take many weeks to secure an appointment.
Yes I get that he was probably distracted by the judge while driving, and that was probably not a good thing.
Judge should have understood and asked him to come down in person when he was done.

Bottom line, the judge had had enough Profiles In Stupidity from this guy. His bail was revoked and he was sent to jail to think about how he went wrong.
Not our problem. Let them solve the problems in their communities.
The look of bewilderment on this mans face when the judge told to turn himself in by 6pm was well priceless. He seems to have no clue.

Hey, if he were an illegal, then it would all be good.
He could do whatever he wanted and some braindead liberal mayor would probably have the city give the guy enough money for a new car, to boot.

It turns out, this man was not driving with a suspended license. His license was reinstated two years ago, but a clerical error never updated his record.
Glad to know. Thanks for the update. Just think, a DMV error made him look like a criminal nationwide.
It could happen to any one of us. I feel bad for the guy. He had to turn himself into jail over it, too.
When I first saw the video, I thought he was speechless because he realized he’d been caught doing something he knew he shouldn’t have been doing.
But, with this new information, the video looks different. He looks shocked speechless to learn his license still showed as suspended.
Oh, boy... Another twist in this story...
Now, the judge is saying this man NEVER had a driver’s license to begin with.
