Their pattern of corruption and lying was uncovered after Strzok and Pientka interviewed Michael Flynn at the White House. After the interview Pientka wrote up form 302 as required from notes he made during the interview. It is well known that neither Strzok or Pientka believed Flynn had lied to them in that interview. Pientka's original 302 has never materialized. 302's are required to be filed within five days of an interview. Instead, the 302 that exists is one that Strzok rewrote and submitted almost a month after the interview occurred. According to the article below, supervisors like Strzok are not supposed to edit agent's 302's, nor are people like Page, who didn't attend the interview supposed to have input into the writing of 302's.

And then of course there's the fact that an attachment to a FISA application regarding Carter Page was tampered with shows a continued pattern of the corruption that exists in the FBI/DOJ.
