The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the manufacturer after Sam Salehpour, a Boeing engineer of more than 10 years, spoke out.

Salehpour said that “the problems stemmed from changes in how the enormous sections were fitted and fastened together in the assembly line.” He added that the components of the fuselage all come from different manufacturers and are not all the same shape.

No problem. It’s just stressed tensile strength.
Makes it fly more better. lol
Carbon Fiber?
That’s crazy!
It works great in minisubs....................
I’ll just hitch hike, it’s safer.
Several of their planes have had pieces fall off if one breaks apart and a bunch of people die then Boeing could be curtains and absorbed into another company for a song
Boeing Comet?
No, it's not Carbon Fiber. It's Carbon-Reinforced Acrylic Polymer.
In other words, C.R.A.P.
Yikes I was thinking of traveling international next winter but now am thinking twice about doing that. Dying in a plane crash is not a good way to go.
Budding Boeing Engineer at work...
This is what happens to woke companies and those hiring brain dead woke workers.
Daredevils who like the adrenaline rush of risk should enjoy flying on Boeing planes.
You know better than that ...
Boeing conceded those manufacturing changes were made, but a spokesman for the company, Paul Lewis, said there was “no impact on durability or safe longevity of the airframe.”Mr. Lewis' statements include a red herring and a contradiction.
Mr. Lewis said Boeing had done extensive testing on the Dreamliner and “determined that this is not an immediate safety of flight issue.”
“Our engineers are completing complex analysis to determine if there may be a long-term fatigue concern for the fleet in any area of the airplane,” Mr. Lewis said. “This would not become an issue for the in-service fleet for many years to come, if ever, and we are not rushing the team so that we can ensure that analysis is comprehensive.”
First he claims there is no impact on the safe longevity of the airframe.
Second, Lewis claims there is no immediate safety issue. This is red herring, since the whistleblower's complaint was directed to the long-term safety of the plane after thousands of trips.
Third, Lewis said that Boeing engineers "are completing complex analysis to determine if there may be a long-term fatigue concern" and the analysis would show a fatigue issue in years to come or would not.
This last statement that the to-be-completed analysis may (or may not) show a long term fatigue problem contradicts his first statement that asserts there is no impact on the safe longevity of the airframe. In fact, until the analysis is completed, they don't know.
What company? Airbus? Or will we have yet another mindless merger like Boeing becoming a subsidiary of Mattel or Quaker Oats or GE?
😎.....................
Having worked for a Boeing supplier, I can attest that at one time their tolerances on some machined parts were quite generous (+/- .020, +/- .030 on rivet hole locations) Don’t know if thats the case now, but yeah, I can see every construction being different. For the record, most stuff I do now is +/- .005 or less, and its not aircraft related, thank heavens.
Airlines buy planes assuming they will last a long time and then be sellable to some obscure airline in Brazil. If these planes don’t last as long as expected, then Boeing may owe those airlines some money.

“ Dying in a plane crash is not a good way to go.”
You are very safe once in the plane.
Driving there is where the danger is
