Having worked for a Boeing supplier, I can attest that at one time their tolerances on some machined parts were quite generous (+/- .020, +/- .030 on rivet hole locations) Don’t know if thats the case now, but yeah, I can see every construction being different. For the record, most stuff I do now is +/- .005 or less, and its not aircraft related, thank heavens.
