Baltimore is in the throes of a policing apocalypse, and the situation is nothing short of apocalyptic. Last week, just THREE police officers were left to patrol an entire district teeming with 61,000 residents. Let that sink in.
Calls for help, including reports of child assault, are going unanswered because the police simply can't keep up. It's a dire state of affairs when law enforcement is unable to respond to the most basic calls for assistance.
Adding insult to injury, the department is now forced to postpone police training in a desperate bid to address the severe shortages. But how did we get here?

Thanks for the information.
In a mall near me in suburban Boston there’s a big stand-up poster from the New Haven (CT) Police Department looking for recruits. It says that after 2 years you make $78,000 a year. Given that the city is considered a (distant) suburb of NYC it’s possible that $78K doesn’t go far...for housing, food, etc.
First thing I notice - 61.2% of the city is Black.
What could possibly go wrong?
Who could ever have predicted this??!! /s
“Enjoy the suck, ass clowns.”

That’s two words.
I figured something like this would happen when they decided to take down the Confederate statues.
No one to blame but themselves. And I fully expect it to get worse.
Defund them some more. That oughta fix things.
That’s what the democrats want.
They inflicted it on everyone.
Start a recruitment program recruiting prisoners.
