The Ukraine “special military operation” is a “de facto” war, Russia admitted for the first time, while blaming the West for the escalation and accusing Ukraine of occupying Russian territory.

Vladimir Putin’s chief spokesman Dmitry Peskov is the first senior Russian figure to acknowledge the country is at war, saying the conflict changed in nature after Western states began to arm Ukraine. Responding to internal comments about his comments on Friday, Peskov later clarified his position, saying that while the government acknowledged it is “de facto” at war, that did not change the state’s legal position that the invasion of Ukraine remains a “de jure” special military operation.

It is fascinating how so many have played the "is-isn't" game across this conflict. But naming of conflicts has been quite the "thing" for longer than this period. Remember "police action?" How about "kinetic action?" (That one courtesy of the "Peace Prize" president.)

"Special military operation" is among the many "don't want to say what actually is going on" euphemisms. Rather Obama-esque in its own Slavonic way.

Another fine example of words to "game" the discussions and debate. We were and should remain a republic, utilizing some democratic mechanisms. The "democracy dies in darkness" BS from the likes of the Washington Post is a game of words, one example among many.

Oligarchs -- so used in the context of the Ukraine-Russia war -- are here too, and throughout Europe and elsewhere. Somehow, "American oligarchs" is a phrase absent in the legacy media, most likely to obscure the fact that American oligarchs own and operate said media.

Your phrase, "demented leftarded traitors," is a nice construction and speaks to me. These have been selling out the US little by little for decades. Since before Ross Perot's public statement about the "giant sucking sound." The Clintons and Obama coteries are examples of these sorts, from Uranium One to the whole Haiti fund-raising game.

We can fight back in many small ways, as one watches "walking away" from media as from companies trying out their "woke" games. Time to "Tyson Foods" the whole lot of them.

All national leaders are required to lie in order to protect national secrets and keep their enemies guessing. US leaders have been lying for decades about our operations and wars in the Middle East. The past few administrations have lied to us about COVID, who blew up the Nordstream pipeline, and CIA involvement in color revolutions. Not to mention we’re still not allowed to know everything about the Kennedy assassination.

Correction: What started as one thing has slowly turned into war, because that is exactly what was wanted in the first place. A proxy war with Russia thanks to Victoria Nuland and those making her wishes & hate come to fruition. Russia can no longer avoid that this will be resolved by any other measure other than a committed war.

It was so avoidable, and the killing of children has awakened the somewhat reserved Bear. Ukraine will now be erased from the maps never to arise again.
