She really wasn’t in the service of the US empire; she merely wormed her way in and used the power of the US for her own obsessions. As noted, the Trotskyites are still mad that they were thrown out by Stalin and unable to achieve their Socialist paradise.
The days of My Big Brudder Uncle Sam beating people up around the world for the greater glory of the Mensheviks are basically gone. The carnage has been too much to explain away.

She knows Trump is winning.
In my opinion, the best theory for her demise (now the poor students at Columbia University have to deal with her, and with Skunk Cabbage, for that matter) is that she plotted with Pistorius, the German Defense Minister, to launch several dozen German missiles to try to take out the Kerch Bridge. This was apparently done behind the backs of Scholtz and Blinken, and it was the ‘surprise’ that she promised Russia. Of course this is the phone call that was intercepted and disclosed by the Russians.
I suspect that Blinken finally concluded that she was CLEARLY out of control, and thus she had to go, as Blinken still opposes World War 3 even if she doesn’t care, and likewise Russia let Germany know that they’d be trading one of their cities if they tried that stunt.
As it is, she’s gone and now we can start seeing little moves by the Neocons to try to get this war ‘behind them’ before the November election season.
This too, will pass away, and eventually it will be acknowledged that she was doing the right things for the right reasons.
