If Bill Gates‘ plan to block the Sun’s rays from reaching Earth wasn’t already insane enough, a team of scientists is now planning to help his efforts with a new “geoengineering technique” to completely dehydrate the stratosphere, stripping it of all its water vapor.
Water vapor is important to Earth. Not only does it trap heat from the Sun, making the planet liveable, but its complex molecules also absorb heat radiated from Earth’s surface, re-radiating it back to the planet.

Having money does not equate to having brains. Bill Gates proves that every day.
BTW, Freon has been outlawed for nearly 30 years.
That damn Ozone Hole is still there......................
The best way to bring these megalomaniacs down is to make them dirt poor while they are still living, and to force them to eat out of garbage cans and sleep cardboard boxes in alleyways while begging for pennies.

“BTW, Freon has been outlawed for nearly 30 years.
That damn Ozone Hole is still there....................”
I think an ozone hole has always been over the Arctic and Antarctic, it is just that we finally got satellite technology to be able to see it. Once they found it it became an excellent lever to panic the citizens to fleece them.
Do not start vast projects with half-vast ideas.
A crackpot venture with half-baked ideas about how water vapor REALLY works, besides its enormous investment, goes against the very nature of the “triple-point” capability of the water molecule. Under conditions that exist in many places at or near the surface of the earth, water can exist as a gas, a liquid, or a solid. To that add the high degree to which water becomes a nearly universal solvent. Water chemistry is a highly specialized field even within the bounds of chemistry, and it has overlapping characteristics which involve the physics of water in its many applications.
The very notion that the stratosphere could be somehow dehydrated is a pipe dream in itself. Is the upper level of the atmosphere to be seeded with some chemical that absorbs the water molecules? What becomes of these absorbed water molecules, which by their very nature have to be heavier than air, as these compounds fall through the lower part of the atmosphere and sink to the ground or back into the surface waters? And how is the stratosphere to be kept free of water molecules, as clouds of moisture continue to ascend to that level?
That is exactly what it is.
The ‘Ozone Hole’ was noticed way back in the 1940s by explorers and scientists, but it did not raise any concerns.
It is a completely natural phenomena....................
Gee, I wonder what a universally respected religious leader like, oh I don’t know…the Pope might have to say about this kind of playing God?
Just kidding of course.
Sort of reminds me of this classic scene from Breaking Bad.
What could go wrong.
Not a good idea.

Please come back soon, Lord Jesus. Redeem your believers and your creation.
If there are any scientists - or anybody else - in the 22nd century.
I remember the 1970s when the big bold plan was to mine coal, grind it to dust, mix it with oil and spread it on the ice fields to INCREASE warmth and stop THE COMING ICE AGE!
Now another wild plan from “Schemes and Dreams” is being considered to block heat from the sun. Why not just have more aircraft produce contrails as these block the sun. On 9-11 the temp of the US actually went UP when all aircraft were grounded.

If only human beings were able to adapt to the environment instead of using the collective output of civilization to literally tilt with windmills against all the forces of Creation.
