Biden Priorities: Sends $300M in Weapons for Ukraine While Pentagon Itself Has No Replacements and Is $10B Overdrawn

For the Joe Biden administration from hell, ‘America last’ is a mantra that pervades every aspect of government.

When it comes to National Defense, it isn’t any different.

That’s why it isn’t surprising that the Pentagon will rush about $300 million in weapons to Ukraine after finding some ‘surprise’ cost savings in its contracts – despite the fact that the US military itself is deeply overdrawn and needs at least $10 billion to replenish all the inventory it has pulled from its stocks to help Kiev.

Associated Press reported:

“It’s the Pentagon’s first announced security package for Ukraine since December, when it acknowledged it was out of replenishment funds. It wasn’t until recent days that officials publicly acknowledged they weren’t just out of money to buy replacement weapons, they are $10 billion overdrawn.”

The Pentagon can’t give any more weapons away until Congress provides the additional replenishment funds.

“The replenishment funds have allowed the Pentagon to pull existing munitions, air defense systems and other weapons from its reserve inventories under presidential drawdown authority, or PDA, to send to Ukraine and then sign contracts to order replacements, which are needed to maintain U.S. military readiness.

[…] ‘When Russian troops advance and its guns fire, Ukraine does not have enough ammunition to fire back,” said national security adviser Jake Sullivan in announcing the $300 million in additional aid’.”

The ‘cost savings’ in some of those longer-term contracts offset the new package and keep the replenishment spending underwater at $10 billion.

“One of the officials said the package represented a ‘one time shot’ — unless Congress passes the supplemental spending bill, which includes roughly $60 billion in military aid for Ukraine, or more cost savings are found. It is expected to include anti-aircraft missiles, artillery rounds and armor systems, the official said.

‘This is not a sustainable way to support Ukraine’, said Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, Pentagon press secretary, calling it a ‘one time good deal’ that officials can’t plan on occurring again.”

This is the second time in nine months that the Pentagon has ‘found’ money for Ukraine.

The US has committed more than $44.2 billion since the beginning of the war in February 2022.

“The Pentagon will rush about $300 million in weapons to Ukraine after finding some cost savings in its contracts”

Finding $10B in contract cost savings would be easy if the MIC oligarchs hadn’t already found and banked it.

Biden should be clear and state his administrations position on individual EU countires placing troops in NATO while at the same aid Ukraine with Instruments of War in the form of military aide. If America sends soldierss openly to Ukraine while at the same time sending weapons, providing intelligence to NATO/Ukraine, as well as war planning and payment to Ukraines military and civilian government workers. Russia is making it very clear how they view US Troops in Ukraine as now engaging in Acts of War Against Russia. I believe below is the official position of Russia on NATO individual soldiers in Ukraine.

Macron is insaine. Macron agrues that these soldiers will not be fighting Russia all the while French foreign aid is hitting Russian soil and killing Russian soldiers. Macron providing French foreign military aid under the existing Cold War custom, doesn’t on the Conventional level as again Customary that French soil is safe. However, Macron is divorced from reality is he tries to argue that French soldiers in Ukraine are essentially being granted diplomatic immunity; Macron and the West are “dead” wrong on this gambit. Legally France is going to War and directly participating in the War, and the West is saying if those soldiers assisting Ukraine (in combat support or direct combat) will trigger French Aggression aginst Russia and by French wokism France will then be at War because of Russia starting a War with France, of is Macron hoping that NATO Art 5 will be triggered. Russia had been very clear since the beginning of the War, they make targeting NATO soldiers in a priority. No conutry actively engaging in direct combat by joining their proxy (Ukraine) in the War against Russia. France is providing material support, weapons, personnel expertise in to ensure functioning of advanced weapons beyond Ukraine’s ability. But putting soldiers into either a combat role or a direct support role such as logistics, intelligence, strategy, together with their proxy At War With Russia gives Russia the under the rules of Land Warfare to destroy military assets a party to the current “proxy” war withi Russia.

Macron might drag NATO into the war. The guy who is like the civilian SecDef of NATO, has said it requires all 32 members to cast a vote to send troops from individual EU Countries, and it is illegal under the NATO Charter to unilaterally go to war with Russia. NATO can not and will not be obligated to go to war with Russia. And France may find herself losing her associate status allowing France to be a part of NATO while not. NATO SecDef type guy said one country cannot drag the treaty organization into war. Russia needs NATO be very clear on this issue of one nation unilaterally engaging in war against Russia from the soil of Ukraine and if French weapons hit Russian Soil - that Russia is going to war with France and will attack France (soil) in a limited and similar fashion to the damage caused by the French in Ukraine. This clear kalarity on NATO actions means that Russia wants an answer from the Nation alliance as to weather they will come to the aid of France when Russia retaliates. NATO needs to YES WILL DEFEND FRANCE AND JOIN THEM IN WAR AGAINST RUSSIA, or NATO needs to NO the alliance will not join France in hositilities against Russia by going to war with Russia along side Ukraine and France. Because Russia has a Red Line, that if NATO soldiers are in Ukraine while that Individual NATO country is sending instruments of war (personnel experts, ammunition, missiles, vehicles, etc.) those soldiers by their presence in the war zone assisting Ukraine will have gone to War with Russia. Russia is clear they will attack France.

The only question then is answered by NATO SecDef guy response over Macron’s comments on individual countreis sending their own troops that they will be break NATO regulations or stipulations demanding no individual country can on its own attack Russia.

The beauth of these escalation rules of engage is that France and NATO specific along with the EU in Brussels will be warned that should Russia retaliate against France it will be it of the same measure or scale of attack; and if Russia does not attack France this time, any further use of French weapons against Russian Soil or against Russian Citizens in Ukraine in the same capacity as the French soldiers, Russia is notifying all parties previously mentioned that France will attack Russia and that the level will serve to be a deturant one time. At he second or third interation of French initiated hositilities Russia states they will be at War legally with Russia. If any NATO soldiers are deployed to Ukraine in any capacity it signal that NATO is in a State of War Against Russia - per Russia’s stated definitaion/understanding of hositile acts and NATO if sending troops then military aid from that country (or possibly NATO at this point) combined with militry forces will have engaged in Acts of War Against Russia.

Just to Clear, Quite Clear.

That's just what demRATs do. DemRATs always seem delighted to burn through the defense inventories but I sure cannot recall them having any enthusiasm for replacing it. They're like the clowns that borrow your tools but never return them.

Really corny,

Translation: He is robbing Peter to pay Paul, using budgets that were approved and where he does NOT have authority to simply repurpose them, that’s why he mentioned “which I can do.” Because he actually “can’t” do that, legally.

But he’s Biden, and the Democrats won’t hold him accountable, the MSM won’t hold him accountable, and our neocon uni-party Republicans won’t hold him accountable, so he’ll get away with it.

What is funny at this point is that some of the more aggressive and forward leaning nations like Poland are openly admitting to what we’re doing, while some others (including us) are still denying or trying to hide what we’re doing by playing games: https://www.euractiv.com/section/politics/news/polish-fm-acknowledges-nato-presence-in-ukraine-kremlin-responds/

This entire issue is just more of the same.

No different than us pretending we didn’t lie with NATO East expansion.

You have a bunch of liars sitting around and trying to figure out how to save Ukraine which is a sinking ship at this point. We are running out of options: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/36a7f6a6f5a9448496de641cf64bd375 Russia is going to slowly gobble up more and more, creating a cost to us for not ending this.

So we lie and concoct elaborate schemes where we do send people there, but then pretend like we didn’t... Look, look, they’re not soldiers, they’re “police:” https://notesfrompoland.com/2023/02/23/polish-police-return-from-secret-mission-in-ukraine-demining-former-russian-occupied-territory/ See we’re not lying!!!

Most conflicts have some amount of special forces (training, strategic intel...), intel folks etc on the ground, but in this conflict we are desperately trying to expand the roles and sort of folks we utilize (key personnel in MOS’s that are vital and in short supply for Ukraine) .
