On March 5, 2024, Governor Landry of Louisiana signed Bill SB 1, Constitutional Carry into law, now known as Act No. 1. The new law will go into effect on July 4, 2024. Constitutional Carry is one of eleven interrelated crime bills designed to reduce crime in Louisiana. All eleven bills were passed in the special session on crime called for by Governor Landry
SB 2 was another of the crime reform bills SB 2 limits the liability of a person who justifiably uses a handgun in self-defense. It provides immunity from civil liability for damages for injury, death, or loss suffered by a perpetrator. The eleven crime bills are listed below. All eleven bills were signed on March 5, 2024.
M. The provisions of Paragraph (A)(1) of this Section shall not apply to any person who is eighteen years of age or older and is not prohibited from possessing a firearm under R.S.14:95.1, 18 U.S.C. 922(g), or any other state or federal law.
SB 1 is a good step toward restoring the free exercise of the right to keep and bear arms in Louisiana. Adults who are not prohibited possessors of firearms under state and federal law will be able to carry loaded handguns, openly or concealed, in most public spaces, without fear of being arrested.

South Carolina is number 291
God Bless Governor Jeff Landry.
Lots of action. Setting good example for lazy states like Nevada.
There is a huge separation happening between red states and blue states. It should generate data for some interesting statistical crime trend analysis.
Is LA part of the 28 or does this make 30 now?
South Carolina is #29.
Current best bet for #30 is North Carolina if Mark Robinson wins the election for Governor in 2024.
The growing number of CC states is so encouraging.
People will be able to protect themselves, which is going to just push the leftists over the edge.
Still waiting for the wild west shootouts to occur, here in Florida, but they haven’t. (and won’t)
Things seem to be quite orderly in most places.
Does a citizen of California who travels to Georgia, have the same right to carry as does a citizen of Georgia?
2.1) 'Lawful weapons carrier' means any person who is licensed or eligible for a license pursuant to Code Section 16-11-129 and who is not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a weapon or long gun, any resident of any other state who would otherwise be eligible to obtain a license pursuant to such Code section but for the residency requirement, and any person licensed to carry a weapon in any other state.
If you are a "Lawful weapons carrier" you can carry under the Georgia law.
Let us ALL help Mark become NC Governor!
Amen to that. I was proud to vote for Mark Robinson for Lt. Governor 4 years ago and to vote for him in the Republican primary last week. I’ll gladly vote for him for Governor this Fall.
I have been warned that you need to actually have a valid license to carry in your home “constitutional carry” state if you intend to carry when you go into another “constitutional carry” state.
Gun laws can be confusing.
As I recall, both Idaho and North Dakota had "resident" limits on Constitutional Carry in their states.
Idaho eliminated the residency requirement a couple of years ago. I think North Dakota did so as well.
