KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Some of the people who attended the near-record cold Kansas City Chiefs playoff game in January had to undergo amputations after suffering frostbite, a Missouri hospital said Friday.
Research Medical Center didn't provide exact numbers but said in a statement that it treated dozens of people who had experienced frostbite during an 11-day cold snap in January. Twelve of those people — including some who were at the Jan. 13 game — had to undergo amputations involving mostly fingers and toes. And the hospital said more surgeries are expected over the next two to four weeks as “injuries evolve.”

Heck of a way to lose weight...!
....and no one really knows anything either.
Probably a “given” that there was gonna’ be frostbite, and so not reported. Consider that Green Bay fans knew how to dress for cold weather.
Mind altering drugs, alcohol, stupidity, and freezing cold don’t mix well.
For the cost of a nice high quality big screen tv, cable hookup etc... maybe a new sofa thrown in there plus snacks... stay at home and wash it in the comfort of your Recreation room. Balance between the cost of an actual ticket, transportation, hotel... pain and suffering etc... it was probably a wash.
“Some fans at frigid Chiefs playoff game underwent amputations”
“Now those are REAL FANS - good for them!”
I know a guy who lost his leg just below the knee while he was surf fishing and got hit by a shark. Talk about bragging rights! But I reckon he probably misses his leg.
I’m guessing the alcohol acts like antifreeze was proven wrong yet again.
“What, this? Um... well, it’s an old football injury...”
Stupid is as stupid does. I wouldn’t care how much tickets cost. It ain’t worth losing an extremity for a silly ball game.
LOL!!!
Alcohol
Drugs
Diabetes
Obesity
Smoking
Improper clothing
“Talk about bragging rights! But I reckon he probably misses his leg.”
I’ll take the leg, rather than the fishing stories.
I salute you, sir!
🤗😆
Insufficient anti freeze
Needed more 100 proof ......
There are proper clothing’s (shoes) which allow you to spend the whole game at that temperature unscathed.
It is not the temperature, it is the clothing some idiotic people choose to wear.
Looks like some will get to wear their signs for the rest of their lives.
Old neighbor was head of the engineering division that was adding seats to a major college football stadium that was built in the 1930s. I don’t recall the exact measurements but the space allowed for a bench seat in 1930 was 16” but the newer, modern ones were in the 22” range and it was due to size, not comfort.
They have heaters along side the benches, have super heavy tarp looking overcoat looking things they throw on when not on the field.
They tend to have superior circulation as athletes. That can’t NOT help.
Some people who cross country ski in national parks underwent amputations.
Some people who eat food choked.
Some people who traveled in Africa were eaten by lions.
(Am I doing this right?)
