Ed Cox should be thrown out by the county Chairs. But the county chairs are weak given the deterioration of the party in NYS over the past 2 decades.
The County Chairs are in in for patronage jobs for committee members and they have zero interest in building a party or winning elections with conservative candidates.
The NYS GOP has been withering on the vine for 20 years, it will be tough to turn that around.
This is the same doddering old stooge who just declared that he is perfectly happy with last week’s partisan Democrat re-gerrymander in his state and will not challenge it in court.
The defeat of the 4 GOP reps who are likely to be ousted as the result of that gerrymander will contribute heavily to handing over the keys to the House to the Democrats in 2025.
So yeah, no need to challenge anything here. At least not if you’re rooting for the Democrats, particularly if Trump somehow gets elected and has to be legislatively hamstrung.

Where was Cox? He was sitting quietly saying nothing even when Dicker would bring various matters up to him, and if you know anything about Fred Dicker, you know he's an old school print reporter who actually asks questions. (And yes, I'm well aware that he's a Never Trumper. It doesn't change that he did confront Cox on a regular basis.) The only time Cox showed any emotion at all was on the 40th anniversary of his father-in-law's resignation when Dicker brought it up and Cox launched into a big defense of Nixon.
When I saw that Cox got put back in charge of the NY GOP after Lee Zeldin narrowly lost to Cruella de Hochul, I Immediately knew that D'Amato and his merry band of Republicans for Cuomo was still in control and they wanted to ensure that Zeldin and his supporters were stopped before they could get any further momentum.
