Avdeevka…. From where the Ukrainian Army has shelled the rebel civilians of Donetsk City for TEN YEARS, has fallen to the Russians after ten years, with many reports of the Ukrainian forces in an absolute rout.
There are going to be lots of tactical, strategic, and political implications from this that we will see over the next days and weeks.
There are reportedly few Ukrainian defenses behind Avdeevka, the Ukrainians put all their eggs into one basket, counting on the deep Soviet-era nuclear bunker system, and defenses built since the end of the civil war to make it impregnable.

No poker face, that guy.
What else is new...
I don’t understand. The media said Ukraine was a lock to win this thing...
There aren’t really any Ukrainian cheerleaders. They are trolls for the Washington elites. If they cared about Ukraine they’d remind the Ukrainians that love them or hate them, the Russians are their neighbors, will always be their neighbors, and they need to mend fences. It was a tragic mistake to not rise up against their Washington overlords in the wake of the Maidan coup. A lesson I hope the rest of us remember.
Most heavily fortified city on the planet? That’s a bit strong, don’t you think?
To quote Thee Trump....
“Go home to Mommy”. LOL!!
Their Quisling bosses in Kiev had the deal negotiated one month into the war. Uke rule over all areas under Uke control in 2021. Normal economic ties, a neutral, standing Uke army was expected. The only catch, NATO doesn’t approve of “aggressive neutrality” (actual NATO term). DC sends its stooge Boris to put the kibosh on peace. That was 300,000 unnecessary dead Ukes ago.
Gee; you think? Let's give guys billions of more dollars for a definite fail project so our own corrupt politicians can continue thinking their favorite off-shore bank account remains protected.
If it weren't shameless enough they're down to drafting kids and the decrepit; criminal Democrats are saying they'll send OUR people in to fight that battle we really have no dog in.
Making me ask "What's the deal with their lust for a Russian war over and above hidden investments?"
Poking bears is a very short hobby to have. Especially considering all the weaponry we all have orbiting each other.
This sure is an interesting turn of events.
It will be well worth watching.
What is this supposed to happen like two years ago?
If there are Ukrainian cheerleaders, then it makes sense that you also have Russian cheerleaders. Since when did we become buddies with Russia?
Hate to see Russia taking any territory they want. On the other hand, hate to defend a corrupt kleptocracy running the Ukraine. Didn’t we learn from Vietnam?
Maybe the NATO strategy is to inflict as much damage against Russia so they don’t get too greedy. But Zelensky has to go.
Don’t know how smart the strategy is in an era of hypersonic cruise missiles armed with nuclear warheads...or suitcase nukes possibly in every city.
Took them long enough, and at what cost? At this rate the Russians should reach Kyiv around 2235, this is if they have any troops left.
Russia has been using mercenaries, private armies, Chechens and prisoners to fight so far. They’ve barely engaged any of the regular military from what I understand.
I watched a long Ukrainian video a week ago in the fighting there. It was reminiscent of WWI terrain wise. Fighting over yards of wrecked forest and pockmarked mud. Foxhole to foxhole. The Ukrainians sure had lots of ammo though, and American weaponry, like high grade stuff. They were Azov troops. The Nazis.
“Denny weighs in from west-west Ukraine - Fortress Luzern in the Alps:”
LOL.
No more USA aid to the Ukes.
Huge difference is Ukraines people support Zelensky and are willing to fight the invading Russians if supplied with weapons.
