Opening weekend Box Office Data shows #2
I don’t believe the data for the #1 spot since the #3 is so far behind #2
I almost never go to the movies, but went to see it with my wife last night & we enjoyed it.
That’s what I’m saying
This whole thing is tough
But I know exactly what God has said in Luke 17 and Romans 1 and elsewhere.
Yikes 😳😳😳😳😳
I fear God FAR more than offending some actors LOL 🤣
“I haven’t seen but now I won’t watch it after what I learned
“Morgana has a good thread on it some time back”

Thanks
No. Srednik is a devout student of the Holy Bible and its original languages. “The Chosen” is “another gospel” in the sense of Galatians 1. In Koine’ Greek, ‘heteros’ (another of a different kind) describes ‘The Chosen’ while ‘allos’ (another of the same kind) does not. It is not worth a believer’s attention. Srednik has watched enough of an earlier episode to identify it is a fake.

THIS
Correct interpretation too
Yeah but you’d have to give up tv, movies, all entertainment is inundated with that.
A person would be a thousand times better to not turn on the tv to absorb the destruction of the doctrines of the Bible. Pick up a Bible or even download a Bible application and read through the Bible on a daily basis and learn the true word of the Living God. The Chosen is fiction. The Bible is true.
It’s more entertainment than biblical but I kind of like it. Better than watching Breaking Bad?
There are some really cringe part like when Jesus and Matthew write and rewrite the Sermon on the mount and disciples create a stage?
But again, it DOES get non believers to check it out. There are some good parts and season three was the best. There’s a LOT orf creative license which appears to man Jesus more man than Son of God and that’s disturbing.
“Dallas Jenkins saying mormons are christians and the like.”
Dallas has created a tremendous work that is driven thousands to follow Christ.
The common thread of many people is that after watching The Chosen, they are dusting off Bibles and reading with intense interest.
Anyone who does something great will be criticized.
And Dallas will make some mistakes .
I believe he did use a Mormon owned set to film the early episodes as the facility had all that was needed.
He has repeatedly stated he is an evangelical Christian.
What few I see (mostly older stuff) are relatively free from that.
However, I don’t consider them to be ostensibly preaching the Gospel.
Still they are definitely if the world , true.

Exactly and it can become a substitute in place of the real thing.
I witnessed this in person - the liberals that took over (unnamed) church organization read everything BUT a Bible.
I had no idea this was that widespread until I experienced it for a couple of years.
Not one of them could tell you what is wrong with even mad mo’s doctrine; shockingly enough.
Frankly as many episodes as they’ve made and the only problem about the show itself and not the actors is it doesn’t show the Transfiguration then it can’t be too off message.
(The Chosen is fiction. The Bible is true.)
And therein lies the problem. You nailed it.
There were other problems not the least of which was backing the agenda.
But hey, fiction or Scripture....
Most of the world will prefer the fictional thing.
Jesus’ father Joseph was portrayed as a sub-Saharan African black in the 1st season. When pandering trumps scripture, everything then is called into question.
Interesting
Well it was The Chosen who decided to go public with the agenda
Guess they wanted to be “edgy” and “controversial” 🤔
That was well-written. Though the author might not have been aware that DJ thought that trolling Christians with Jesus on the Cross, winking at Joseph Smith walking by, would be good.
Mad Mo would be hilarious as well, no doubt. And L. Ron Hubbard.
I had a class in high school, Music Stage And Screen.
The original teacher left to have her baby after subjecting us to Oklahoma. Wizard of Oz and the like.
The band teacher took over and we got Tommy, Ziggy Stardust and JCS instead.
The latter was like God wrote repent on a shovel and hit me upside the head with it
I even asked to take the album home and record it to cassette
Then I saw the movie, which is still in my top 5 movies of all time.
Theologically perfect or not, it’s what God used to bring me to Him.
Eternally grateful for it and I personally find it deeper than it seems.
Just my tuppence.
The series started OK but got worse as it progressed. It definitely focuses on Jesus’ humanity and downplays his deity. I won’t be watching anymore.
