Trump would only buy lingerie for a wife or lover.
Gift giving for a woman is Christmas, birthday, anniversary or Valentine’s day.
If it was before Christmas, the store would have been busy.
If buying for a birthday or anniversary, it would be somewhat odd to go after another woman.
That leaves Valentine’s Day. I doubt Trump had a Bergdorf-Goodman’s account, so a purchase for the occasion would be on a credit card. Since it was lingerie, the woman was unlikely to be an employee, so use of a Trump Organization card would not be likely. Trump had to buy a gift, so a gift would be on his credit card shortly thereafter. The banking system would probably still have the records.

I don’t know where that claim comes from, but I’ve seen it quite a number of times. She says 1995 or 1996 is the piece I linked too.
