Hum....My GT score when I enlisted was 116. I think at the time the max on that GT test score was 125. I was told back then to enlist that score needed to be above 90. But when I got to AIT I met guys from the South and inner cities like Chicago, Baltimore and Philadelphia that had GT scores below 70. That was in 1975. I always wondered if the scoring was adjusted for geographical areas based on education and social environment?

Similar experience. With a GT score over 115, you were treated like an officer by the officers one on one. Maybe they too were intimidated by the rare individual, say one out of 50 with those scores.

Army is build on a competent fire team of four-five guys. Two fire teams consisting of 9 personnel, one the squad leader can perform all military and first aid tasks. Four squads make a platoon. Every three platoons is supported by four squads in weapons platoon built around three mortors, some light anti-tank. If these 16 squads function, a US Army Infantry company could have held the center during Pickett’s charge.

Today’s Army is build around substandard non-performing individuals rather than teams. The elites do not understand the small elite force they inhereted will actually need to be replaced by 2-3 times the numbers of Woke recruits.

In the old Army a leader spend 90 percent of his time on 10 percent of his soldiers, and 10 percent on good ones. When all your soldiers are problem people, you will never achieve the competency required by the current small force.

The answer is not more people without English or basic educations. It is training the force.

Our elites DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE USA. THEY ARE GOING TO DESTROY THIS NATION FIRST AND FOREMOST.

LOL, it was based on the needs of the Army at the time. IIRC, borderline soldiers were sent to classrooms to beef up their reading comprehension.
