A trucker convoy is preparing to head to several locations along the U.S.-Mexico border next week to draw more attention to President Joe Biden’s lax immigration enforcement policies Republicans have blamed for millions of illegal crossings.
The issue is really coming to a head in Texas, where Gov. Greg Abbott (R) appears to be defying the administration and the U.S. Supreme Court by ordering his National Guard to erect razor wire barriers along a section of border near Eagle Pass to staunch the flow of migrants.
“There will be a ‘Take Our Border Back’ multi-day trucker convoy from January 29th through February 3rd,” Rep. Keith Self (R-Texas) wrote in an X post. “Routes will end at Eagle Pass TX, Yuma AZ, and San Ysidro CA.”
The U.S. convoy will emulate similar protest movements in Canada during the COVID pandemic, where truckers gathered around government buildings in Ottawa and border checkpoints to oppose the nation’s strict vaccine mandates. In response to the protests, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the nation’s “Emergencies Act” to effectively declare a form of martial law, leading to the clearing out of protesters by riot police and the arrest of leaders who also had their bank accounts seized.
A Canadian judge ruled earlier this week that Trudeau’s invocation and use of the act was unlawful.
Regarding the U.S.-based convoys in reaction to the border crisis, trucker groups are scheduled to converge in San Ysidro, California, Eagle Pass, Texas, and Yuma, Arizona, on February 3. Several meet-up dates have been established for the upcoming days, as truckers are anticipated to journey from as far as Jacksonville, Florida, to participate in the rallies.
“The Biden Administration and the federal government are in violation of Article IV, Section IV of the U.S. Constitution,” reads a flyer for the “Take Our Border Back Convoy.” That clause charges the federal government with protecting Americans from invasions.

I don’t believe Governor Abbott will permit them to get an inch close to the borders since the situation is an exploding hot potato right now. But excited to see them!!! Woohoo!!

There is talk that the Administration sent Blinken to Mex City several times to arrange camps along the Mexico/Guatemala border and have Mexico hold them there — til November. This would reduce the influx this year to be shipped north.
In November, regardless of who wins, they will be released to continue north.
The intent is to report declines in border events as well as shipment to north cities.
A thousand semis with trailers could easily shut down access to and from any city pretty easily. We could watch all the feds run out of gas and be stranded in the desert.
I watched the Taxis in Downtown LA do this many years ago, they literally CLOSED THE CITY, you could not drive anywhere.
Concern is the feds will treat this like Jan 6 folks. They will round up the organizers and anyone participating. Gonna get interesting.
It’s going to be hard to get a conviction when the case is tried in Texas.
