Knittnmom collapsed Saturday evening with what she thought were severe back spasms. The pain was bad enough she was screaming, and my mother NEVER screams!
We took her to the hospital, where a CAT scan revealed bleeding from her descending aorta. More scans showed an aneurysm right where the aorta connects to the heart, and some kind of problem with one of her heart valves. While they were trying to get the different teams coordinated so they could do surgery, she suffered a minor stroke. Surgery is being put off while they figure out what needs done and in what order, and while they try and get her stabilized.
If that wasn't enough, this afternoon she had a weird reaction to one of the medications.
Doctors still sound optimistic but things keep happening that they don't expect, so I'm not sure how reliable that is. It keeps getting more and more terrifying.
Please pray for my Mom?

Question: during a crisis, we all call out to God. But do you KNOW this God? I mean, is He the focus of your life, thru Jesus the Christ, His Son? If you are not ‘born again’ there is NO assurance that God will hear you. In fact, if you HAVE NOT given your life to Jesus the Christ, YOU are in terrible danger...

Clear away all confusion, Lord God, as You are the God of orderliness and wisdom.
Reveal the best course of action to all of her medical caregivers and family members.
If she or any of her close family are not saved, rescue their souls from destruction, Lord, and receive their repentance, that their prayers may be effective.
May Your ever-Present guiding Hand and Heart of Mercy move among them, restoring her health and spirit.

She’s actually the one who introduced me to Free Republic, many, many years ago.
Mom stepped away from all news sites a couple years ago, so she hasn’t been commenting here lately. She realized she was spending so much time just trying to keep up with everything that it wasn’t leaving her much time for real-life stuff.

That must’ve been a scary thing to go thru for both of you! You have my prayers that the medical people can get your mom healthy again, and that you stay strong and ready for her to come home! She did a good thing by “stepping away” for a while, sometimes it all just gets too overwhelming and we need to refocus on the things we can somewhat control (I do, anyway!). God bless, please keep us posted on her progress.
