As an electrical engineer, the most glaring problem with EVs is that we simply do not have the grid capacity to power a national EV fleet.
A few months ago some colleagues and I did the analysis for California – Australia is similar.
In order to create the same “power to wheels” as currently provided by gasoline and diesel, California would need to double its generation capacity.

And What do they use to make the power?
((((I know. Rhetorical Question)))
You assume the left actual care about the viability of their cockamamie plans to save the plant or something.
Logic, the laws of physics, and Darwinian reality all doom the Democratic agenda.
I’m rooting for climate change to warm up the planet so I can then buy an EV.
The demographic supporting EV live predominately in the urban areas. They don’t own cars, they rent an uber if they need to get to the airport to fly to their vacations. These are simply not issues for that demographic.
STAY HOME.
It is not a coincidence China is the big winner from EVs.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (rhetorical answer).
Bush and Cheney gathered a group to visit the electrical grid. They were hammered about corporate greed. The current issues are clearly their fault. /s
It would make sense since nothing they have attempete has succeeded except failure and ruin.
Oversize electric golf cart fanbois will not be pleased at the besmirching of their pets.
EV’s are fine; if used as intended. You have to live in an urban area. You have to only take them on short trips. You should keep them charged @ 80% at all times.
These things have been known from the beginning, but the went ahead anyway hoping for some miracle research to save them at the last like the cavalry in a John Wayne movie.
The Laws of Physics and especially Thermodynamics will not be repealed.
One idiot staffer of Obama’s told the CEO’s of Ford, GM and Chrysler at a meeting they would repeal ‘those laws’.
God made those laws and they are self-enforcing......................
Yep, and forget about towing and such.
Unless they live in urban areas that get cold.
How are the batteries at 105 degrees? 110+? No issues? According to Climate Hysterics those temps will be everywhere soon.
Best we can do is reduce current generation levels - Newscum.
