If you have recently renewed your Car Insurance you may have noticed a MASSIVE INCREASE in your insurance premium compared to your previous price. There has been a huge increase in car thefts as a result of the FLAWS in Keyless Car Technology which has made it easier for thieves to steal your car without causing any damage.
The two main methods used for stealing your car using electronically are RELAY THEFTS and HACKING. In addition to this there has also been a rise in the theft of KIA and HYUNDAI cars as a result of a TIKTOK Challenge.
In this video I provide more details, look at the TOP 10 stolen cars in 2023 and discuss the issues that need to be addressed.
I have zero problem with my standard mechanical key locks.
America has sure changed in the last 50 years.
This electronic bullsh!t is supposed to be "better", and it turns out to be more inconvenient than a mechanical key.
Same here, which is why it’s so annoying that my insurance premiums keep going up to cover the losses involving EVs, keyless thefts, and lots of other things that have nothing to do with me. Every year I’m a year older, and also add another year of no tickets or accidents, yet every year I have to pay more for the same coverage on the same vehicles.
Google the lock picking lawyer.
I absolutely hate my push to start car. Didn’t want it when I bought it and 9 years later still think it’s the dumbest most pointless feature ever
The GM passcode 3 was the best. A traditional mechanical key with RFID besides. Finding a way to get by both would be extremely technical and time consuming. There really was no problem with thieves stealing those cars. Key-less should be illegal. OH, and it didn’t cost 600 dollars to replace a key.
I’ve had push-to-start cars from time to time, until I would fix the starter. One more reason for manual transmissions.
The other day in Boston 4 teens stole
a Kia Stinger. Two of them will not
be down for breakfast. Crashed in wee hours.
Yep....remember to park on a hill.
It’s unfortunate that the car was problbly totaled.
Never had a vehicle stolen and never had 1 issue with my standard mechanical locks.
All that whizbang bull sh*t vehicle technology I can do without.☺
If you go back far enough, you could push start the automatics as well.
North Korea and China feeding the car thieves the tools to hurt South Korea.
You’re going to need a big hill, like 35mph worth.
I used to be able to push-start a VW bug on dead level ground. Probably couldn’t now. Once on a very windy day I was able to open the driver’s door wide and sail the thing to starting speed.
That was before my time. As I understand it, even then you had to get the vehicle moving quite fast.
Yes.
The rear pump was driven by the output shaft so you had to get the car moving fast enough to build pressure.
“Push start” for the early automatics meant pushed by another car.
I remember an old story about a guy who needed a push start for his automatic car. He told the other driver that it should start at about 35 mph, so the other driver backed up far enough to get up to 35 before starting the push. Probably never happened, but funny.
