Peter Boghossian taught at Portland State University until he saw how DEI turned our education system into social justice factories where grievance and division are the only outputs. While Peter and PragerU CEO Marissa Streit disagree on some issues, they find common ground on the fact that our education institutions need to be abandoned and started anew.

He’s not wrong.
Thanks for posting the link. Now how about saving me some time by sending it out to P&L’s worldwide readers? Ought to be real easy for you. All you need are individual email addresses from NZ, Australia, China; Russia, Mexico, Canada, Ireland; and elsewhere. As I said, it ought to be real easy for someone like you.
An excellent idea. Ive been saying so for many years.
Cut off all Federal funding. In the original Constitution the Federal Government was not allowed to do that.
Trump is very shrewd, and I wonder if he’s already thinking along the same lines.
There will be massive layoffs but medical schools, etc will be fine because we need doctors and students can get the loans from their banks instead.
Those who attend these “institutions of higher learning” come out dumber than when they went in.
Today’s college graduates are so unprepared for serious employment, corporations are turning away from hiring them.
Marxist indoctrination has destroyed the value of a college degree.
Destruction of colleges and universities is well under way because what happens in those brainwashing institutions has no practical value and everybody is coming to realize it.
I know a 24-year-old man who went to work for Boeing in Everett, Washington, and is being trained in skills inside the company. He has mechanical aptitude and common sense. His mechanical skills have been self-taught. He is very bright and has a strong work ethic. He has no time for the nonsense being spewed in college.
Cut government funding and most of this stuff will go away since it’s too worthless for someone to actually pay for.
Need to exterminate the propaganda media.
Immediately start with PBS and NPR. Them CNN. MSDNC, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.
After that begin the liquidation of the New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, Reuters, Associated Press, Gannett, on and on.
Do not allow a single one of those cretins to escape the ultimate punishment. In 13 months, the great cleansing begins.
The value of a diploma from a selective college was that it told the prospective employer that the person had to have been smart to be admitted.
Now, with Affirmative Action, its value is lessened.
You could do better by hiring straight out of high school, if you could have access to the kid’s grades and SAT scores, and if using that info wouldn’t earn you a discrimination lawsuit.
Companies used to do that, before a Supreme Court decision in the 1970s declared that any employment test which had fewer blacks passing was illegal discrimination (Griggs v Duke Power)
My point is that you grab other people’s stuff to get clicks on your blog.
Your ‘point’ is absolutely incorrect and poorly reasoned.

End the accreditation cartel and get them out of internal governance matters. Right now they are mostly an industry protection racket.

You had so many great points in your response, I copied the entire thing above. One more I would add is that when we started telling every kid that they had to get a college degree, the law of supply and demand took over and the value of a “mere” undergraduate degree plummeted. It just became the assumed price of admission to most decent jobs. And just like showering trillions of dollars of printed fed dollars on everyone, it created inflation, both in the price of “higher education” and in the new threshold to be seen as a more desirable candidate.
The cost of tuition went sky high (also driven by access to third party money in the form of grants and loans), and the new requirement to get noticed by employers became a graduate degree. For most kids who go to college now, aiming for an undergraduate degree, it’s a perfect storm of disappointment. They have to shackle themselves to years of student loan debt for a degree that will do nothing to help them stand out from the crowd, and may not get them a job at all. And to top it off, the quality of the “education” product they will receive is worse than zero. The lucky ones will spend yet more time and lost opportunities trying to restore their minds from the Leftist programming they paid so dearly for.
Not just universities. How about a reboot of our children’s publicly- funded indoctrination centers?
The ideal education should
1) Impart a wide body of knowledge: history, philosophy, literature, mathematics, science.
2) Teach students logical reasoning, sufficient to let them spot BS arguments, and construct their own logical arguments.
3) Should train them to express themselves, in speech and writing, with clarity and persuasiveness. (Correct grammar and spelling should have already been taught in elementary school)
That is what a “liberal arts” degree used to be a hundred, or even fifty, years ago.
