🚨🇱🇧🇵🇸🇮🇱 BREAKING: An explosion hit southern Beirut on Tuesday, destroying several cars and killing official Saleh al-Arouri, according to multiple reports in Lebanese and Israeli media.
This is a significant development. Israeli intelligence has been trying to kill al-Arouri for years and the United States has had a 5 million dollar bounty on him.
Hamas confirms was assassinated alongside 2 leaders in the Hamas military wing. Hezbollah’s leader had warned that any assassination of a senior figure (regardless nationality or affiliation) on Lebanese soil would have consequences.
This escalation is deliberate Al-Arouri is a deputy political leader for Hamas and one of the founders of al-Qassam Brigades, the so-called military wing of Hamas.
This is an extremely serious escalation. Bombing Beirut or its suburbs had long been declared a red line by Hezbollah that would necessitate significant retaliation.
That’s a shame...
Gotta start wondering how many more ‘senior’ Hamas leaders there are left.

Another “red line” crossed. If Nasrallah doesn’t take action, hezbollah looks impotent. If he does take action, Beirut could end up looking like Gaza. Israel’s destruction of Hamas and Gaza has to give him pause.
