“Evolutionary biology doesn’t take a position on origins.” Chemical evolution doesn’t take a position on evolutionary biology either. The two are often run together by proponents of evolution as simply “evolution.”
I’ve never seen a proponent of evolution rebuked for running the two (chemical evolution and biological evolution) together.
When a critic of evolution makes the same “mistake,” the response is usually different. He may be told that he is “ignorant” (intended as an insult) for not knowing that abiogenesis is different from evolution. It’s a gotcha moment.
Thw double standard is wrong.
