Chicago is also the home of the CPUSA. Yes, they have a huge following in Congress. 1984 was the last year they ran a presidential candidate, since then they endorsed the ☭#Dem_Candidate!
I am aware of 3 members of our US congress who received special awards directly from the CPUSA in Chicago.

IL Congressman Bobby Rush
Sen. Richard Blumenthal
I once had a link to a video of Grijalva leaving their headquarters in Chicago after receiving his award.
The most recent to receive an award was Blumenthal.
